Haneda goes Int’l: Lufthansa – Yes, nwa – No

2 airlines with different views on Tokyo Haneda Airport going international once again.

During the interview, which published on Wing Daily on 12SEP07, nwa’s manager for Japan expressed the airline’s opposition of internationalizing Haneda Airport. It calls such moves will only give Japanese carriers advantage, compared to other carriers. It expressed, Haneda should just stay Domestic and Narita stays International.

However, Lufthansa’s new manager for Japan expressed interests (Wing Daily on 11SEP07), hoping to operate out of Tokyo Haneda at night hours. It is so far the first European carrier expressed its interest to operate out of Haneda.

TAM to Caracas

TAM will start service to Caracas from 29SEP07. The Daily service will be offered as Rio de Janeiro – Sao Paulo – Manaus – Caracas. A320 will operate the flight but passengers will require to change plane in Manaus, but the type of plane will not be changed.

Korean Air Cargo has launched 2 weekly Munich service since 06SEP07. The routing is Seoul – Moscow – Munich – Seoul.

LOT Polish Airlines will begin 6 weekly Warsaw – Hanover service from the start of 2007/08 Winter schedule.

Transaero to relaunch LA, start NY/Miami

Russia’s Transaero plans to resume Moscow – Los Angeles and launch Moscow – New York, as well as Moscow – Miami in the Summer of 2008.

Transaero once operated flights to Los Angeles with DC10/B767 in the late 90s.

Korean Air to Melbourne

Korean Air will begin to operate Seoul – Melbourne flight effective 29OCT07, 3 times a week, onboard A330-200.

bmi to launch Tel Aviv service from 2008

bmi today announced it plans to launch service to Tel Aviv, followed by the conclusion of new bilateral deal between UK and Israel, which allows UK to designate 2nd carrier to operate service to Israel.

Last nwa 747-200 Flight: 12SEP07

nwa NORTHWEST AIRLINES will operate the last 747-200 scheduled passenger service on 12SEP07, as NW008 Tokyo to Seattle, than NW170 Seattle to Minneapolis.

The first 747-200 entered service with nwa in 1975, which at once had a fleet of 22, the peak in 1997. The 747-200 has flown over 320000 flights since entering service, and has flown more than 1 billion miles.

jazeera airways to add new routes

According to report, jazeera airways will be adding new routes in the 2007/08 Winter schedule:

Kuwait – Riyadh
Kuwait – Jeddah

It also plans to add Dubai – Male, Dubai – Beirut, and plans to increase Dubai – Mumbai to 7 weekly flights.

Air France adds 6th weekly flight to Malabo

Air France will add 6th weekly flight on its Paris CDG – Malabo route eff 28OCT07, representing additional 50% capacity increase compared to 2006/07 Winter schedule.

The flight will operate daily except Sunday, with A319LR.
