UNITED Seasonal reduction on SFO – Asia
UNITED is reducing frequencies on San Francisco – Nagoya and San Francisco – Seoul in 2007/08 Winter schedule.
San Francisco – Nagoya will be reduced to 5 weekly, no flights operating on Day 13, and Day 24 on return
San Francisco – Seoul will be reduced to 6 weekly, no flights operating on Day 3, and Day 4 on return
San Francisco – Osaka will be upgraded to 747-400 as originally announced.

In response to address congestion issues at JFK Airport, DELTA is making the following adjustments:
*Reduction of average hourly departure by 6% during congested hours
*Decrease JFK afternoon rush hour departure, shifting short-haul trans-atlantic flights to 3rd bank of International departure after 7pm
*Optimization of connecting times to increase transit times
*Elimination of Turboprop flights out of New York JFK

DELTA/UNITED awarded new US Routes for 2008
DELTA and UNITED each being awarded for the new China – US air services, DoT announced today.
DELTA can start Atlanta – Shanghai, Daily 777 service effective immediately. The airline calls for March 2008 launch.
UNITED will start daily 777 service between San Francisco – Guangzhou from 25MAR08. UNITED must start the route from this date or frequencies will be designated to other carriers on other routes.
For 2009, the DoT tentatively awarded:
US Airways Philadelphia – Beijing A340
nwa NORTHWEST AIRLINES Detroit – Shanghai B787
Continental Newark – Shanghai B777
American Chicago – Beijing B777
Note the 2009 awarding can still be changed as well.
The next round of US – China route/frequency designation beyond 2010 are the following:

- 21 combination frequencies and 15 all-cargo frequencies for points in China Zone 1 or Zone 2
- 7 available combination frequencies or all-cargo to China Zone 2 only
