UK-Singapore open skies deal

UK and Singapore earlier this month has signed a landmark open-skies deal, which carriers from each side will gain access for unlimited flights beyond each country and removes the restriction of carriers from each side to fly between the two countries.

The deal, also allows SIA to operate UK domestic service, plus the lucrative Trans-atlantic service to/from UK.

nwa NORTHWEST AIRLINES is launching 3 new services to Europe in 2008, including 1 operated by KLM.

Minneapolis – Paris CDG Daily A330-300 service eff 08APR08

Also, nwa has also announced it’ll be expanding codeshare with Air France to additional 39 cities beyond Paris CDG.

Air Astana will launch new 2 weekly Astana – Dubai service eff 30OCT07 onboard A320.

CONVIASA A340 to Tehran

The Tehran – Damascus – Caracas service has now been operated by CONVIASA A340. The route was previously operated by Iran Air’s 747SP. The A340-300 is configured in J36Y250.

Winter schedule as followed:

*RB4740/4741 appears on Damascus – Caracas sector only. As CONVIASA took over this route, Syrian Arab Airlines subsequently has cancelled the codeshare with Iran Air on Tehran – Damascus sector.

TAP Portugal will start service to its 8th destination in Brazil – Belo Horizonte – eff 11FEB08. Service operates 5 times a week

Royal Brunei 777 to Hong Kong

Royal Brunei will operate 777 on 2 of 7 weekly service to Hong Kong from 07DEC07.

The 777 service will operate on Day 35 on BI635/636.

DELTA announced it’ll be launching 2 new service between Los Angeles and Hawaiian Islands from June 2008.

jetBlue cease Columbus and Nashville service

In the 07Q3 financial report announced this morning, jetBlue says it is ceasing operating to Columbus OH and Nashville TN on 06JAN08, citing slower market growth than its prediction.

Service between Oakland CA and Fort Lauderdale FL will be terminated on 13JAN08 as well.

Regarding JFK operations, it says it plans to begin a “much more focused initiative on overflies”.

E190 operation will be moved to midwest and the west coast, but not all new markets will be announced for 2008.

DELTA temporarily reduce Seoul flights

DELTA will temporarily reduce Atlanta – Seoul flight from 4 weekly to 3 between 04JAN08 and 07MAR08.

DL091 will operate on Day 125 out of Atlanta during this period and DL092 on Day 236 from Seoul.

Taiwan-Japan bilateral revision

Taiwan’s CAA has confirmed it is close to revising bilateral air service deal with Japan, which the revision is to be approved soon.

Taiwan’s Transasia Airways and Far Eastern Air Transport (FAT) will be able to operate charter service to Japan. Taiwanese carrier will be able to operate service between Osaka and any point in the US with full 5th freedom rights.

Komatsu and Miyazaki are being converted to a scheduled destination.

SIA A380 Route Plans

Singapore Airlines/SIA has revealed its route plan for 10 A380s.

1st A380, which is scheduled to operate schedule service in less than 5 days, will operate Singapore – Sydney.
2nd/3rd A380 will allows the airline to operate one of 3 Daily Singapore – London.
4th A380, to be delivered in April 2008, will operate one of the Singapore – Tokyo service.
5th/6th A380 will operate Singapore – Hong Kong – San Francisco.

The remaining 4 will be operating additional Sydney, London flight, as well as existing Australian destination.
