NZ expands Rarotonga – LA route

Air New Zealand’s Los Angeles – Rarotonga – Auckland is operating variation schedule. The airline is adding 2nd weekly flight between December 2007 and March 2008 to meet the demand. This was originally planned for December and January only.

Cathay Pacific ups Vancouver frequency

Cathay Pacific starting 30MAR08 will further increase Hong Kong – Vancouver service from 17 weekly to 21 weekly, which makes it triple daily.

CX836/835, which currently operates Day 146, will be going daily from 30MAR08, still operated by A340-300.

Korean Air effective 30MAR08 will re-numbering flights to Guam, Australia and New Zealand. The re-numbering is likely to pave way for future expansion in China.

Mauritius signs new bilateral MoU with Australia

Mauritius recentl has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of revised bilateral deal with Australia.

This includes

*Weekly frequency increase to 7
*From Australia to Mauritius, it can departs from Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney
*Air Mauritius can operate flights between the cities mentioned above as online connection to/from Maurtius
*Australian carriers can make stopover in Mauritius and continues to 4 cities in Africa, which carriers can fly up to 3 cities in South Africa alone
*Maximum 4 weekly codesharing flights permitted
*Carriers from each side can operate cargo service to points beyond

SAT starts regular flight to Beijing

Sakhalinskie Aviatrassy (SAT Airlines) will begin scheduled service between Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Beijing from 03DEC07.

The flight will be operated once a week on a 737.

China Airlines shuffles Kaohsiung operation; drops HKG-KUL

Starting 01JAN08 China Airlines will be reshuffling its operation in Kaohsiung.

Japan & Thailand reach openskies deal

Japan and Thailand has concluded an open-skies deal during the latest bilateral talk held on 28NOV07 and 29NOV07.

*Unlimited frequencies and airports between Japan and Thailand for carriers from each side, excluding Tokyo. This makes Thailand the 2nd country after Korea to sign such deal.

*Tokyo Narita Airport, which is still restricted, will have 21 weekly frequencies to be designated to any Thai carriers on any routes.

*Flights between Thailand and Japan via intermediate point (currently 17 weekly), as well as flights beyond each country (Currently 10 weekly), will be expanded to 21 weekly flights each

CSA Czech drops Canada and Austria

CSA Czech Airlines is dropping Montreal and Toronto in Canada as well as Vienna in Austria service starting January 2008.

Toronto service will be converted to summer seasonal service. The last flight in this winter is 17JAN08 via Montreal. The summer seasonal service begins 01JUN08 and ends on 14OCT08.

Lufthansa double daily 346 to Tel Aviv

Starting 30MAR08, Lufthansa will be operating double daily A340-600 service on the Frankfurt – Tel Aviv route.

This route is currently operated by 1 daily 747-400 and 1 daily A340-300.

Frontier closing door to Canada on 01DEC07.

With the decision to pull out Denver – Vancouver service, Frontier is totally bowing out from the Trans-border marker as it has already cancelled Calgary service before hand.

Last flight to Vancouver, is now scheduled 01DEC07, instead of Janaury 2008.

DTW-AMS back to 5 daily in Summer 2008

KLM/nwa’s joint operation between Detroit – Amsterdam for Summer 2008 is now back to 5 daily, with nwa operating 4 flights and KLM operating 1.

KL618/617 will replace NW053/054 from 30MAR08. The flight will be operated by A330-200.
