Air Tahiti Nui on 08JAN08 filed application for approval to operate service between any points in the US and any points in the European Union.

Pinnacle applies Atlanta-Cozumel for DELTA

Pinnacle d/b/a DELTA Connection on 07JAN08 applied for service on Atlanta – Cozumel route, which is due to begin 01JUL08.

This will be operated with CRJ900 on daily basis.

DELTA/AVIANCA ends codeshare from June 2008

DELTA on 09JAN08 filed a notice to DoT that it’ll stop codesharing with AVIANCA for travel starting 01JUN08, over the implementation of E-Ticket according to IATA’s standard, which DELTA adopts.

The sale of the codeshare flight for 01JUN08 and beyond has suspended since 27DEC07.

Lufthansa to expands codeshare with AC to USA

Air Canada on 09JAN08 filed a notice to the DoT that it’ll be displaying Lufthansa’s “LH” flight number on the following routes:

Toronto – Atlanta
Toronto – Boston
Toronto – Minneapolis
Toronto – Philadelphia
Toronto – Raleigh
Toronto – St. Louis

This should starts 30MAR08.

Kalitta request All-cargo to India via HK

Kalitta Air on 08JAN08 filed application to request for 2 weekly frequency, all-cargo service with full 5th-freedom rights between Hong Kong and Chennai.

The routing will be Los Angeles – Honolulu – Hong Kong – Chennai – Anchorage – Los Angeles.

Southwest 2008 plan unveils

Southwest Airlines today announced the 2008 operational plan which will see removal of 40 roundtrip flights starting May 2008 schedule. However, it will be adding 49 new roundtrip flights in key markets.

BA launch OpenSkies

British Airways today announce the launch of “OpenSkies”, which will serve routes between Continental Europe and the US.

OpenSkies by the end of 2009 will have a fleet of 6 Boeing 757s, configured in 24 Business, 28 Premium Economy and 30 Economy class seats.

The Business Class will have 6″ flat bed, while the Premium Economy Class will see the world’s largest seat pitch – 52″.

It plans to start operation in June from either Brussels or Paris, to New York JFK.

BA launch Hyderabad in Oct 2008

British Airways will launch its 6th Indian destination – Hyderabad – starting 27OCT08. The 5 weekly service will be operated by a 777.
