Air Vanuatu 737-800 in service
Air Vanuatu will be introducing Boeing 737-800 to its fleet as it will be replacing the sole 737-300. This change gives Air Vanuatu extra 44 seats per flight on the 737.
The 737-800 will be in service from 01FEB08, flying to Auckland, Brisbane, Honiara, Nadi, and Sydney.

JAL Taiwan flight aircraft shuffle
On the Tokyo – Taipei Route, JL647/642, will be temporarily operated by Boeing 767 instead of 747-400 for the month of June 2008. Starting 26OCT08, the service will be operated by 767 throughout 2008/09 Winter.
Tokyo – Kaohsiung route, will be operated by 767-300 starting 01OCT08, replacing the current 747-400 service, which recently replaced 767 when the 2007/08 Winter schedule was launched.
Virgin/Air Jamaica applies codeshare via Miami
Virgin Atlantic and Air Jamaica today applied for approval to expand their codeshare via Miami.
If approved, Air Jamaica’s “JM” code will be applied on Virgin Atlantic’s flight between London and Miami. Virgin Atlantic’s “VS” code will be applied on Air Jamaica’s flight between Miami and Kingston as well as Miami and Montego Bay.
Philippine applies Vancouver – San Diego route
Philippine Airlines today filed an application for permission to operate 3 weekly Vancouver – San Diego route with full 5th freedom rights, as a tag on from Manila – Vancouver.
The airline plans to operate A340-300, as early as 4th quarter in 2008.

AEROFLOT codeshare route to Magadan
AEROFLOT has codeshare agreements with Dalavia/H8 and Vladivostok Avia/XF which covers the Magadan route. AEROFLOT also codeshares on Vladivostok Avia’s Vladivostok-St. Petersburg service.

Air China Southwest branch New Year rush 2008
Air China’s Southwest branch has unveiled its plan for the Chinese New Year rush.
The “Spring Festival Transport Plan” will last 40 days from 23JAN08 to 02MAR08.
It’ll be adding additional 794 flights, capacity of 122000 during this period.

*20 extra flights on Chengdu – Wenzhou
*62 extra flights on Chengdu – Lhasa

Between 06FEB08 and 12FEB08, Chengdu – Sanya will be increased by 1 daily flights, as well as 15 extra flights. Chengdu to Kunming, Jonghong, LiJiang City will also sees various increase. There will also be 1 extra daily flight operating between 07FEB08 to 12FEB08 on Chengdu – Jiuzhaigou route.
