TAM signs cooperation MoU with 2 Star members
TAM has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 2 Star Alliance members – Air Canada, SWISS.
The MoU mainly covers FFP reciprocal tie-up and the flight codesharing.

Air Korea is now known as Jin Air
Air Korea, the name of Korean Air’s low-cost carrier, has received a new name as the airline has officially unveiled its corporate identity and aircraft livery.
The airline is called “Jin Air/真航空”.
First flight is Seoul Gimpo – Jeju on 17JUL08.
According to the article:
Jin Air, which will start operation of the Gimpo-Jeju route on July 17, made public its image, models of aircraft and cabin crew uniform at an inauguration ceremony held in downtown Seoul Sunday.The carrier has abandoned the tentative name of Air Korea and adopted Jin Air, which has the same pronunciation as the Chinese character meaning “truth” and “sincerity.” Its slogan is “Fly, better fly ― Jin Air.”
Pursuing “freshness” and “pragmatism,” the budget airline showed unconventionality in many aspects.
QANTAS announce A380 service
QANTAS today announced the A380 operating routes.
The 1st A380 for QANTAS will operate 1 weekly Melbourne – Los Angeles and 1 weekly Sydney – Los Angeles. First flight from Melbourne on 20OCT08 and 24OCT08 from Sydney
As the airline receiving 2nd A380 in November, it will operate as the following:
QF093/094 Melbourne – Los Angeles v.v. on Day 13
QF011/012 Sydney – Los Angeles v.v. on Day 357
The QANTAS A380 will be configured in P14J72W32Y332
Air Berlin bows out China competition
Air Berlin service on the Dusseldorf – Beijing (5 weekly) route and the Dusseldorf – Shanghai (reduced from 5 to 3 weekly) will be cancelled from 26OCT08.
The airline launched these routes in May.
AEROFLOT plans 330 to Beijing/LA in summer 09
AEROFLOT currently plans to replace Boeing 767-300 with A330 from 01MAY09 on the following:
2 Daily Moscow – Beijing
6 weekly Moscow – Los Angeles
It has already planned to operate A330 service to Tokyo and Shanghai from November and December 2008 respectively. However, Shanghai service is to be switched back to Boeing 767 from 01MAY09.
More Air Astana flight to Beijing
Air Astana’s Almaty – Beijing route will be increased from 4 to 6 weekly from 26OCT08. Service will be operated by Boeing 757-200.
KLM Daily to Cape Town
KLM in the 2008/09 Northern Winter timetable season will operate Daily flights on the Amsterdam – Cape Town route.

AA 737 replace 757 to Vancouver permanently
American Airlines appears to be replacing Boeing 757 aircraft with Boeing 737-800 on the 2 daily Dallas – Vancouver route starting September 2008.
According to the GDS, the airline has no plan to reverse it back Boeing 757 during Christmas Season.
China Airlines further reduce LA in Summer
China Airlines will be operating 12 weekly flights instead of planned 13 on selected weeks in July and August.
The flights being affected is CI006/005.
Suspended frequencies is to be reinstated as of 30SEP08 for the time being.
Unconfirmed: Sayonara Kitty
Unconfirmed at this point, but both Hello Kitty Jet operated by EVA Air will cease service at the end of 2008 Summer timetable.
B16303/16309 will return to regular livery and the cabin service is likely to be returned to regular ones.

ETIHAD has added extra frequency on Sunday on the Abu Dhabi – Geneva route. It will be operating between 19JUN08 and 12SEP08.
The flight will be operating as EY051/052 with A330.
