Air Astana eyes Osaka for 2009 launch
Air Astana is planning to operate service from either Almaty or Astana to Osaka by Fall of 2009.
Japan and India concludes new bilateral deal
Japan and India this week has concluded a new bilateral deal on air services.
Both passenger flights and number of destinations will doubled by Summer of 2010.
- Weekly frequencies from both sides can increase from 21 to 42 weekly
- Japanese carriers can serve 6 destinations in India instead of 3
- Indian carriers can serve 8 destinations in Japan instead of 4
Restrictions of weekly Freighter service frequencies will be removed by Summer 2010. Currently only 7 weekly flights can be operated
*By 2010, Indian carriers will have up to 14 weekly frequencies to Tokyo Narita, up from current 4
Continental announce UNITED partnership; joining Star
The long awaited speculation has over as Continental and UNITED jointly announced comprehensive global partnership plan, which eventually will see Continental leaving Skyteam Alliance and joins UNITED/Lufthansa-led Star Alliance.
