Air Busan launches on 27OCT08
Air Busan, which Star Alliance member ASIANA AIRLINES owns 46% share, is set for launch on 27OCT08.
ASIANA AIRLINES will be transferring all of its Seoul Gimpo – Busan and Busan – Jeju service to the low-cost carrier. As a result, ASIANA will be codesharing on all of these flights.
Air Busan from 27OCT08 will begin 63 weekly round-trip flights on Seoul Gimpo – Busan route. From 01DEC08, it’ll operate 35 weekly Busan – Jeju route. Service operates with 2 737-500 from ASIANA.
According to Air Busan’s website, the 2-letter IATA code is “BX”. According to Wikipedia, which is to yet to be confirmed, it’ll be part of the Star Alliance affiliate under ASIANA (equivalent to Ted under UNITED, which has since merged back into mainline earlier this summer).
