Air NZ drops Hamilton – Brisbane
Air New Zealand has announced it’ll cancel Hamilton – Brisbane service, the sole Trans-Tasman route after the airline’s announcement to cut Hamilton – Sydney and Hamilton – Gold Coast route.
The cancellation goes into effect from late March.
Air Tahiti Nui axe New York
Air Tahiti Nui has decided not to operate northern summer seasonal Papeete – New York JFK service.
Although still listed on Sabre and Amadeus timetable display, the availability and inventory are Zero’d out. It has already chopped Osaka service last fall and is also suspending Sydney service soon.

Buy Spanair for EUR1
SAS Group on Friday (30JAN09) has completed the partial sale of its group member carrier, Spanair, to Catalana d’Inciatives (also teamed up with Consorci de Turisme de Barcelona).
The transaction sees SAS selling 80.1% stake to the Spanish consortium, worth only EUR1 (USD1.28). It’ll keep 19.9% of the share within the airline.
The group suffered a setback on selling the carrier in 2008.

SAS’ winter seasonal Copenhagen – Delhi service ends on 28MAR09.
