CSA to launch tour group-only charter to Miami

As per post from Airways.CZ message board, CSA Czech Airlines has signed a contract with Czech’s Exim Tours Agency, providing 1 weekly charter service on the Prague – Miami route.

Service operates from 25APR09 to 31OCT09 with A310, on Saturdays. Both will closely monitor the booking numbers and will decide whether this would be operating during 2009/10 Winter season

Alaska expands Hawaii service

Alaska Airlines today announced expansion on its Hawaii market.

From 07AUG09, it’ll launch 3 weekly Portland OR – Maui with 737-800

Kenya Airways scales back Lubumbashi incrase

As per 03FEB09 Amadeus and Sabre timetable display, Kenya Airways’ planned increase on Nairobi – Lubumbashi route from 4 to 6 weekly, is scaled back.

It now plans to increase service to 5 weekly, which actually begins from 22FEB09

Kenya cancel nonstop Guangzhou

As per Sabre and Amadeus timetable display on 03FEB09, Kenya Airways will cancel Nairobi – Guangzhou nonstop service.

From 29MAR09, the nonstop flight will be re-routed via Bangkok, which overall frequency will be 4 weekly

KLM today announced it’ll be cancelling Amsterdam – Aruba service from 29MAR09. This route will continue to be served by subsidiary Martinair.

Spanair 2009 Summer Timetable highlight

Spanair yesterday announced its 2009 Summer operation.

Including code-sharing, Spanair will operate 756 domestic and 740 international weekly flights out of Barcelona. 550 domestic and 660 international weekly flights operates out of Madrid.

In total it will be serving 67 routes:

27 Canaries
6 Balearics
13 International

Skymark Airlines 09 – 14 midterm plan

Japan’s Skymark Airlines has outlined its mid-term (2009 – 2014) business plan which will see the carrier expanding from current 5 routes to 19.

The expansion comes into 3 phases – 09/10, 11/12 and 13/14. Each phase sees 5 new routes opening.

The routes/destinations to be launched are:

Air Asia to launch 6 new cities in China & Taiwan

According to report issued by Chinese News Agency Xinhua, Malaysia’s Air Asia plans to launch 4 new cities in China and 2 in Taiwan.

It plans to operate:
Kuala Lumpur – Tianjin (First half of 09)
Kuala Lumpur – Taipei (First half of 09)
Kuala Lumpur – Chengdu (Second half of 09)
Kuala Lumpur – Chongqing (Second half of 09)
Kuala Lumpur – Xian (by the end of 09)
Kuala Lumpur – Kaohsiung (no confirmed schedule yet)

Service to be operated by either Air Asia or Air Asia X

Air Asia/Air Asia X already served the following cities in China:
