Westjet ties up with AIR FRANCE-KLM
Westjet yesterday signed an deal with AIR FRANCE-KLM which the two will be cooperating and eyes codeshare agreement.
The codeshare agreement may come into place as early as the end of the year or 2010

Air India shelved Frankfurt scissor hub plan
It appears that the “imminent announcement” by Air India last month never materialized. In fact it was shelved.
Citing original source, Air India was to reshuffle its Long-haul routes and create a scissor hub in Frankfurt

Due to ongoing political unrest in Madagascar, Kenya Airways has cancelled Nairobi – Antananarivo route for now.
China Airlines 09 Summer: highly likely resume Houston
According to Taiwan newspaper report, China Airlines is planning to resume service to Houston around May/June 2009.
Once confirmed, it’ll operate 4 weekly Taipei – San Francisco – Houston, which the latter sector will see the increase to 11 weekly as a result. Quoting the airlines’ executive, chances are HIGHLY LIKELY.
The Taiwan-based carrier’s 2009 summer schedule focuses on frequency increase on routes recorded average 80% load factor or above.
Taipei – Frankfurt to increase back to 6 weekly by 06MAY09.
Taipei – Sydney increase from 4 to 7 weekly, previously announced (due to currency devaluation)
Taipei – Hong Kong – Bangkok is likely to increase from 1 to 2 Daily
Taipei – Seoul, subject to Government approval, to increase from 2 to 3 Daily, including codeshare. This is also due to currency devaluation
The airline points out that in 2008, even at the load factor between 80-100%, it was still unable to make a profit.
China Airlines/Mandarin to Shizuoka
China Airlines starting 04JUN09 is to operate 4 charter flights on the Taipei – Shizuoka route.
The Taiwanese carrier is the 3rd carrier revealed intention to operate charter flights to Shizuoka, after Edelweiss and Cathay Pacific.
Its subsidiary Mandarin Airlines is considering operating scheduled service, as the airline previously reported that it is supporting the operation of the new carrier Fuji Dream Airlines
