THAI 2009 Summer changes – As of 05FEB09

2nd Daily TG678/679 reinstated, but operates at reduced frequency – 4 weekly, operating on Day x246
TG668/669 is to be operated by A330-300 only, previously plan to operate 777-300 on selected days also shelved.
Bangkok – Hong Kong
Planned increase to 39 weekly is shelved
Overall frequency is to be kept at 36 weekly, with TG638/639 remains Day 7-only service. This flight was planned to be increased to 4 weekly.
Bangkok – London
A340-600 operation on TG910/911, which was supposedly an interim solution (16JAN09 – 28MAR09 only) due to prediction of traffic falls after political unrest, is now being kept for the 09 Summer season

DELTA changes on NY – Sao Paulo
As per 05FEB09 Sabre timetable display, DELTA is reducing New York JFK – Sao Paulo route to 6 weekly from daily, effective 29MAR09. Service not operates on Day 2 from New York.
This pretty much solved the mystery on how DELTA is able to operate 3 weekly Los Angeles – Sao Paulo flight from 21MAY09, when the Skyteam carrier was only awarded 2 weekly slots by the DoT.
In addition, from 01JUL09, Boeing 767-400ER replace -300ER on New York – Sao Paulo route
Indonesia AirAsia to launch Singapore – Indonesia
According to latest report form FlightGlobal sister company Air Transport Intelligence, Indonesia AirAsia has received regulatory approval from Singapore to operate service between Singapore and Indonesia.
It hopes to operate the following 2 services as soon as next month:
Singapore – Jakarta
Singapore – Denpasar
Once these 2 routes launched, it plans to operate Singapore – Yogjakarta
China Eastern cancel Copenhagen service
As per Sabre and Amadeus timetable display, China Eastern appears to have quietly dropped Copenhagen service. It no longer extends to the Danish city via Frankfurt. The latter retains Daily turn-around service.
The route only lasted for about 2-3 months

As per Sabre timetable display, Shanghai Airlines plans to operate Boeing 757 and 767 aircraft on the Shanghai – Macau route once again
Starting 29MAR09, FM817/818 is to be operated by 767 and FM807/808 operates with 757, replacing 737s
China Eastern all A320s on Shanghai – Hong Kong
Starting 29MAR09, China Eastern’s 9 Daily Shanghai – Hong Kong service will be operated by Airbus A320 or A321. The change represents the airline is operating all narrow-bodies aircraft on this route.
Currently, MU701/702, MU509/510 are the 2 daily service operates with widebody A330-200. The other 7 daily operates with A320/321
China Eastern replace A300 to Singapore
From 29MAR09, China Eastern is to operate A340-300 aircraft on Shanghai – Singapore MU568/567 flight, replacing A300.
With the change, it’ll operate 2 Daily A330-300 and 1 Daily A340-300
