Ryanair cuts Dublin and Shannon network

Ryanair has announced it’ll be cutting flights at Dublin and Shannon airport after the announcement of Irish Government introducing €10 Tourism tax which will be in effect from 30MAR09

The Dublin cuts include:
*Downsize from 22 to 18 737-800s based at Dublin (20% reduction)
*Weekly flights reduced from 700+ to <600 (18% cut)
*Projection of passenger traffic reduce from 10.8million to 8.7m in 09/10 (20% drop)
*200 job losses

The Shannon cuts include:
*Reduction of aircraft basing from 6 to 4
*Route network reduce from 30 to 25
*Weekly flights reduce from 136 to 116
*Traffic projection reduce from 1.9million to 1.2m
*Job cuts from 300+ to <200
