Korean Air Changes to LA and re-route Vegas

As per 23FEB09 Amadeus timetable display, Korean Air is adjusting operation on the Seoul – Los Angeles and Seoul – Las Vegas route for the summer season.

With the new change, overall Seoul – Los Angeles nonstop service is operating 17 weekly Eastbound and 20 weekly Westbound starting 29MAR09, as Seoul – Las Vegas route will be operating via LAX on the return, replacing nonstop.

Previously planned increase, KE015/016, is being replaced by KE021/022 with new schedule, and operating at a shortened period between 20JUL09 and 22AUG09 only, this brings the total number of nonstop flight to 20 weekly Eastbound and 23 weekly Westbound.

Korean does not have local traffic rights on the Las Vegas – Los Angeles sector, but the operational routing is similar to what JAL used to operate before it abandoned Las Vegas route (Tokyo – Las Vegas – Los Angeles – Tokyo)


Meanwhile, it is also continuing Daily Seoul – Tokyo – Los Angeles service with 777-200ER and KE061/062 extends to/from Sao Paulo. Overall Korean Air passenger operation is to be 30 weekly during peak season
