MAS 330 to Mumbai

As per GDS timetable display on 17APR09, Malaysia Airlines is to operate Airbus A330-200 along with 777-200 on the Kuala Lumpur – Mumbai route starting 01JUN09.

As per GDS timetable display on 17APR09, Malaysia Airlines has reduced Kuala Lumpur – Amsterdam route to 6 weekly.

AEROFLOT plans Daily Havana service from Dec 09

As per 17APR09 GDS timetable display, AEROFLOT is increasing Moscow – Havana service from 3 to 4 weekly from 26OCT09, and further increasing to Daily from 22DEC09.

Service is operating with Airbus A330

Finnair accelerates last MD11 flight date

As per 17APR09 GDS timetable display, Finnair has moved forward the date of its final MD11 operation.

Previously it was planned for 01MAR10, but this is being scheduled 4 weeks earlier.

The last flight, AY095 from HEL departs on 01FEB10, AY096 from BKK departs on 02FEB10

Garuda Indonesia is ending its Denpasar – Darwin service starting 22APR09. Last flight operates on 20APR09.

TAP Portugal major changes to Brazil from Sep 09

As per GDS timetable display on 17APR09, TAP Portugal starting 10SEP09 will be re-adjusting its service between Lisbon and Brazil.

There will be frequency/capacity reductions, as well as service to Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo will see outbound service switching to red-eye flights from daytime service

Dragonair announce 13% capacity cut

Dragonair has announced it’ll be reducing its capacity by 13%.

Service to the following cities will be reduced:
Hong Kong – Bangalore Service reduce to 4 weekly from Jun to Sep 09
Hong Kong – Busan Service reduce from Daily to 4 weekly (Day x236) from 28MAY09
Hong Kong – Sanya Service reduce from Daily to 5 weekly (Day x23) from 25MAY09

Service to the following destinations will be suspended, mostly effective 01JUN09
Hong Kong – Fukuoka eff 01JUN09
Hong Kong – Dalian – Shenyang
Hong Kong – Guilin (not updated in GDS yet)
Hong Kong – Xian
(not updated in GDS yet)

On the Hong Kong – Shanghai service, 10 weekly flights will be operated by Airbus A320/321 instead of A330

During May 2009, there will be selected cuts throughout its network

Cathay Pacific announce capacity cuts

Cathay Pacific today announced capacity reductions. The cut sees 8% reduction on passenger service and 11% on Cargo flights.

Hong Kong – London Selected cancellations in May, previously mentioned
Hong Kong – Paris CDG 14 weekly frequencies will be reduced. CX261/260 retains daily flight, but CX263/262 Daily flight sees following cuts.

7 flights in May will not be operated:
07MAY09, 11MAY09, 18MAY09, 19MAY09, 25MAY09, 26MAY09, 28MAY09

Service reduced from 42 to 32 weekly from 01JUN09

CX735 from HKG cancelled on Day 123

Service reduced from 35 to 31 weekly

CX709 from HKG operates on 257 only

Pending reductions

Hong Kong – Taipei – Tokyo Haven’t updated in the GDS, but is to switch from 379-seater 747 to 311-seater Airbus A330

Hong Kong – Mumbai – Dubai Airbus A330-300 replace 747, previously mentioned. But based on press release it appears this will be extended throughout Summer

The airline, however, will increase service to the following.
Hong Kong – Denpasar Increase from 7 to 11 weekly from 01JUL09 to 30SEP09, previously mentioned
Hong Kong – Sapporo Increase from 4 weekly to Daily from 01JUL09 to 31AUG09, previously mentioned
Hong Kong – Bahrain – Riyadh – Hong Kong Service increase to 5 weekly from 16MAY09, and will further increase to Daily from 03AUG09

Subject to confirmation, cargo service to be reduced from 124 weekly during Summer 08 peak to 84 weekly.

North America Reduce from 31 to 26 weekly
Australia Reduce from 3 to 2 weekly
China Reduce from 23 to 15 weekly with service adjustments
North Asia Reduce from 20 to 10 weekly, with service adjustments focusing on Osaka and Taipei
