As per GDS timetable display on 27APR09, ETIHAD’s Abu Dhabi – New York JFK service is to be operated by Airbus A340-600 on a daily basis during 2009/10 Winter timetable.
Service currently operates with a mix of A340-500/-600
FAA: Low-flying Large commercial jet at NYC a drill
The FAA has clarified that a large commercial jet, some reported a Boeing 747, flying low along Hudson River in New York City, is a test drill.
The jet was accompanied by military fighter jet.
FAA says low-flying plane over Staten Island is ‘pre-planned’ flight to take photos

Monday April 27, 2009, 10:03 AMA plane, that appears to be a commercial jet tailed by fighter jets, is a “pre-planned” military flight taking photos of the Statue of Liberty, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Reports indicate it may be Air Force One.
“It is pre-planned, pre-coordinated with everyone involved,” said FAA spokesman Jim Peters. “It’s a military flight over New York to take photos.”
Peters, who stressed it is not an emergency, said the flight is circling the Statue of Liberty and New York City to take photos.

China Eastern on 26APR09 launched Daily Chengdu – Kangding route with Boeing 737-300

Air Senegal Int’l ends operation
Air Senegal International (ASI) ended its operation on 24APR09.
This is mainly due to the dispute between Royal Air Maroc and Senegal Government over some issues of the airline. RAM earlier this month removed one of the Boeing 737 from ASI back to its own fleet, sending ASI into operation chaos.

Cairo Airport Terminal 3 opens this week
Cairo International Airport’s New Terminal 3 is entering operation this week. The terminal, dubbed as Star Alliance terminal, sees first flight operation on 27APR09.

Taiwan’s Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) and China’s Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) on Sunday (26APR09) has agreed to a newly-expanded air traffic deal.

No Swine Flu related flight cancellations so far
Both AeroMexico and MexiCaNa’s North American operations are business as usual despite the outbreak of Swine Flu.
However, it is reported that the latter is currently screening all passengers and reserves the rights to reject boarding if they show symptoms of sickness
