US Airways Mexico Cuts overview
The following is US Airways’ planned cuts to Mexico for May 2009. Note these are in effect from 10MAY09 to 31MAY09 as per 04MAY09 GDS availability display
Boston – Cancun Service CANCELLED (Originally planned for Day 6 only)
Charlotte – Cancun 1 of 3 Daily service, US821/822, operates Day 467 only. Extra 4th Daily weekend service is CANCELLED
Charlotte – Cozumel Reduce from 2 to 1 weekly (Day 6 only; Day 7 CXLD)
Charlotte – Mexico City Daily Service CANCELLED (except 11MAY09)
Philadelphia – Cancun No Changes
Phoenix – Acapulco No Changes
Phoenix – Cancun No Changes. Planned increase from 7 to 9 weekly from 16MAY09 still a go ahead
Phoenix – Guadalajara Reduced from 2 to 1 Daily
Phoenix – Guaymas Reduced from 1 Daily to 5 weekly (Day x23)
Phoenix – Hermosillo Reduced from 1 Daily to 5 weekly (Day x23)
Phoenix – Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo No Changes
Phoenix – Mazatlan Reduced from 16 to 9 weekly (Day 16 2 flights)
Phoenix – Mexico City Reduced from 1 Daily to 6 weekly (Day x2)
Phoenix – Puerto Vallarta Reduced from 4 to 3 Daily
Phoenix – San Jose del Cabo Extra Day 5 (Day 6 from SJD) CRJ900 cancelled, otherwise no changes
Lufthansa reduce Moscow & Seoul service
As per GDS timetable display on 04MAY09, Lufthansa is reducing the following service.
Frankfurt – Moscow Domodedovo Service reduce from 5 to 4 Daily from 01JUL09. LH3180/3181 cancelled
Frankfurt – Seoul Service reduced from 1 Daily to 6 weekly (Day 2 cancelled from FRA) from 07JUL09 till 15SEP09
QATAR all-A320 to Kathmandu from Oct 09
As per GDS timetable display on 04MAY09, QATAR’s 2 Daily Doha – Kathmandu service will be operated by Airbus A320 only for the 09/10 Winter season, and carried on to 2010 Summer
Service during Summer operates with a mix of A320 or A330-200
LANPeru Mexico cancellation
Due to Peruvian Government banning air travel to Mexico, LANPeru has cancelled Lima – Mexico City. As per GDS available display, service is cancelled till 31MAY09 at the earliest
AeroMexico temporary cancel Peru service
Peru is among several Latin American countries that has requested a ban of air travel to/from Mexico.
As a result, AeroMexico is forced to cancel Mexico City – Lima service until Tuesday 05MAY09 at the earliest. The ban came into effect on 30APR09.
US Airways drops Pittsburgh – LAX/SF in Aug 09
As per GDS timetable display on 04MAY09, US Airways will cancel Pittsburgh – Los Angeles and Pittsburgh – San Francisco service from 18AUG09.
Last flight operates on 17AUG09.
These routes will be replaced by UNITED’s new service from 02SEP09.
Oman Air changes to Bangkok service in Winter 09/10
As per GDS timetable display on 04MAY09, Oman Air in the 2009/10 Winter timetable season is increasing Muscat – Bangkok service from 6 to 7 weekly, but the schedule operates in various timings and flight numbers

As per GDS timetable display on 04MAY09, selected Jet Airways’ Mumbai – London Heathrow service sees Airbus A330-200 replace 777-300ER.

As per GDS timetable display on 04MAY09, Air India Mumbai – London Heathrow service on 01JUN09, operates as AI1131 instead of AI131.
There is no changes to the flight number on the return
Cathay Pacific 330 to Bahrain/Saudi Arabia Aug – Oct 09
As per GDS timetable display on 04MAY09, Cathay Pacific from 01AUG09 to 24OCT09 is operating Airbus A330-300 instead of Boeing 777 on the Hong Kong – Bahrain – Riyadh – Hong Kong route
MEXICANA resumes Buenos Aires
MEXICANA has resumed Mexico City – Buenos Aires service on 03MAY09 after service was halted for a week by the Argentine Government
EGYPTAIR Cairo Terminal 3 operation updates
As per 04MAY09 GDS timetable display, EGYPTAIR has released the list of dates which it’ll be transferring operation at Cairo to the new Terminal 3
Domestic Service will be the first batch to gradually transfer to T3 in late May.

Selected DELTA International changes
As per 04MAY09 GDS timetable display, DELTA is adjusting following International service.
Los Angeles – Sao Paulo
Planned launch date on 21MAY09, is now postponed to 30JUN09, but will operate until 16AUG09 only. It will then resume service from 14DEC09
Los Angeles – Sydney
Planned selected dates in July 2009 with 777-200ER operating is reversed. Service is all operated by 777-200LR
New York JFK – Sao Paulo
Service reduce from 6 to 5 weekly from 03AUG09 to 04OCT09 and 17OCT09 to 23OCT09, flight not operating on Day 24 from JFK
ASIANA adds new Air China codeshare route
ASIANA’s May 2009 timetable is showing the airline to display its “OZ” code on Air China’s Chengdu – Hefei – Seoul service, starting 06MAY09.
However this is not loaded in the GDS yet
