Lufthansa is retiring its Airbus A300-600R fleet this summer, and as per 08MAY09 availability display, the last flight is set for 01JUL09, from Rome to Frankfurt

COPA Airlines leaving Skyteam 24OCT09
Panama’s COPA Airlines will be leaving Skyteam Alliance on 24OCT09, coincides with sponsored carrier Continental’s departure for Star Alliance.
COPA’s Skyteam Associate membership is sponsored by Continental. Although the latter no longer has shares (stockwise) investment in COPA, but the two still has a number of important joint initiatives.
Shenzhen Air applies 2 Int’l Routes from Shenzhen
Shenzhen Airlines today applied for 2 more routes with the CAAC. It plans to begin service as early as June, twice a week.

UNI-TOP Airlines begins operation today
UNI-TOP Airlines, a new logistic/cargo carrier in China, starts operation today. It was established by UNI-TOP Logistics with approval from the CAAC in Dec 2007.
It is leasing Air China Boeing 747-200F for the time being, but the company says it has already purchased 3 same model.
The first flight, begins today, is Wuhan – Shenzhen – Chennai – Dubai – Wuhan, 2 weekly (Day 57).
It’ll begin the following routes later this month.
