Spanair begins Air Canada codesharing
Spanair earlier this month has started placing its “JK” code on Air Canada’s Madrid – Toronto and selected domestic Canada service.

This marks the codeshare agreement between Air Canada and Spanair being bilateral as this used to be Air Canada’s “AC” code appearing on Spanair flight. Air Canada also once again placed its “AC” code on some Spanair’s domestic service
Afriqiyah delays Dhaka/Manila launch
Due to apparent delay of delivery of Airbus A330, Afriqiyah Airways’ planned 2 weekly Tripoli – Dhaka – Manila is now to begin service from 25OCT09, instead of 11SEP09
Afriqiyah postpone Airbus A330 service
As per GDS timetable display on 20MAY09, Afriqiyah Airways’ new Airbus A330 service, is being postponed by 3 months
Originally the A330 is to enter service on Tripoli – London Gatwick route on 03JUN09, followed by Tripoli – Paris CDG on 04JUN09.
The A330 will now be entering service to London Gatwick starting 06SEP09, operating on Day 37. Service to Paris CDG, is only operating on 10SEP09 only, but will be getting regular A330 service from 26OCT09.
GMG Airlines Daily to Kathmandu from Jul 09
As per GDS timetable display on 20MAY09, it appears that Bangaldeshi carrier GMG Airlines is increasing Dhaka – Kathmandu service from 4 weekly to Daily, starting 01JUL09

AIRFRANCE-KLM expands joint-venture with DELTA
AIRFRANCE-KLM today announced it is entering the expanded joint-venture deal with DELTA.
The expanded new Trans-Atlantic joint-venture will covers 200 daily flights, approximately 50000 seats.
The joint-venture network is focused on existing AIRFRANCE-KLM and DELTA hubs, in addition to Cincinnati, Lyon, Memphis and Salt Lake City. This covers all flights between North America and Europe, Amsterdam – India, North America – Tahiti.

Tokyo Narita 2nd runway extension schedules Oct 2009 opening
According to report issued by JiJi from Japan on 20MAY09 1306LT, The extension project of 2nd runway at Tokyo Narita Airport is to complete sometime this Summer, and plans to enter operation on 22OCT09.
The extension project sees the runway extended from 2180m to 2500m, which will allow larger-capacity aircraft like Boeing 747 and 777 to utilize, especially for long-haul operation
China Airlines & Mandarin changes to China charter in Jun 09
Mandarin Airlines and China Airlines in June is operating Taipei Taoyuan – Shenzhen 3 times a week. The 4th weekly service, is being removed in order to operate Taipei Taoyuan – Chengdu service.
