DELTA forced to drop Kenya/Liberia service
DELTA is forced to cancel planned Atlanta – Dakar – Nairobi and New York JFK – Dakar – Monrovia service due to concerns on security threat, addressed by US Department of Homeland Security.
The Skyteam carrier was supposed to inaugurate service to Nairobi yesterday (02JUN09) but forced to cancel 11 hours before the take off.
There are no words on when these 2 routes will be launched
Uzbekistan Airways begins all-cargo service
Uzbekistan Airways has launched all-cargo service with 2 Airbus A300 Freighters, dry-leased from Korean Air.
The new cargo service is based in Navoi, which both parties are developing the airport into a new logistic hub in Central Asia. Cargo schedules is the following:

Virgin Blue/V Australia eyes Japan in next 18 months
During a press conference of celebrating Virgin Atlantic’s 20th anniversary of service to Tokyo, CEO Richard Branson hinted that his airline group is looking at service between Japan and Australia with in the 12 months. It is likely that Virgin Blue (or could be V Australia, but not mentioned in the press) to operate this service.
Also according to the report from Travelvision on 03JUN09, when mentioning the Tokyo Haneda – London Heathrow service, Virgin is continuing to evaluate the possibility of the service, but may have difficulties due to time slot is restricted to owl hours in Haneda.
