Chile’s Principal Airlines launches 18JUN09
Chile’s 3rd carrier, Principal Airlines (PAL; or Aerolinea Principal), is to take off on 18JUN09 at the earliest.
It plans to operate service on:
Santiago de Chile – Antofagasta
Santiago de Chile – Iquique
Transasia Airways reduce planned Busan service
Transasia Airways has reduced planned Daily Taipei – Busan service to 4 weekly.
Service operates on Day x236.
Originally the flight was operating every 5 days. It was going to increase to Daily from 01JUN09, but reduced in the last minute
Shandong Airlines plans Jinan – Taipei service
Shandong Airlines is applying for service on the Jinan – Taipei Sung Shan service, which should go into effect from July 2009, as cross-strait air traffic service between Taiwan and China will be converted to regular scheduled service.
Shandong Airlines already operates Qingdao – Taipei Sung Shan flight.
China Eastern to Nepal
China Eastern’s Yunnan branch plans to launch 3 weekly Kunming – Kathmandu service with Boeing 737.
Service to begin from 17JUL09, operating on Day 257. Detailed schedule is not provided at this time
Tianjin Airlines replacing Grand China Express
Hainan Airlines’ parent HNA Group today officially unveils new member, Tianjin Airlines.
Tianjin Airlines is a new venture between the HNA Group and Tianjin City Government, which will replace existing Grand China Express. It is inheriting 53 ERJ145/190s from the latter…..
The “new” airline will continue to use Grand China Express’ “GS” 2-letter flight number code.
It plans to have reach a fleet of over 100 by 2012, covering 100 cities in China with 500 routes, offering over 200,000 flights per year and targets 15 million passengers annually.
Uzbekistan drops Summer only 2nd weekly to NY
As per GDS timetable display on 08JUN09, Uzbekistan Airways’ Summer seasonal 2nd weekly Tashkent – Riga – New York JFK service, is shelved.
The airline will only operate this service once a week

Uzbek all B757 flight to Seoul
As per GDS timetable display on 08JUN09, Uzbekistan Airways’ Tashkent – Seoul service is operated by Boeing 757 only.
Originally the airline plans to operate a mix of 757 and 767. But the 767 is now only scheduled to operate on 14AUG09 and selected dates in September.
Saudi A330 to Johannesburg from Jul 09
As per GDS timetable display on 08JUN09, Saudi Arabian Airlines once again postpones planned Airbus A330 service on the Jeddah – Johannesburg route.
