DELTA Announce 20% International Capacity Cuts
DELTA today announced a series of International capacity cut starting September 2009, which sees up to 20% reduction into Winter 2009/10.
The list of the changes and adjustments are the following:

In addition, according to its press release, Atlanta – Mexico City and Detroit – Mexico City sees frequency reductions. Winter seasonal Service between non-hub cities and Mexican beach destinations will not be operated in the 2009/10 Winter season.
New York JFK – Buenos Aires appears to not be resumed from Winter season as well
3 US Airways European service goes seasonal
As per GDS inventory display, US Airways is converting 2 European services from year-round to Summer Seasonal service.
Philadelphia – Brussels last flight 23OCT09
Philadelphia – Milan last flight 30SEP09
Inventory/Availability display after the dates mentioned are being Zero’d out in the GDS.
Philadelphia – Zurich service will remain Summer seasonal as well, with last flight operating on 30SEP09
Finnair changes Final MD11 destination with postponement
As per GDS timetable display on 11JUN09, Finnair has pushed back the date of the airlines’ final MD11 flight.
Originally the airline planned to operate last MD11 service from Bangkok on 02FEB10 as AY096.
However, here are the following changes:
*Final flight from Bangkok with MD11, is now showing 03FEB10 as AY096
*MD11 is to operate Helsinki – Delhi from 03FEB10 to 15FEB10
With the change, the final MD11 service with Finnair is now scheduled as AY022 from Delhi on 16FEB10
Air China drops Athens; Paris reduced
Air China has cancelled its 1 weekly Beijing – Paris CDG – Athens as well as reducing Beijing – Paris CDG to 7 weekly (was 10 including 1 weekly extension to Athens).
MEXICANA reduce Vancouver during W09/10
As per GDS timetable display on 11JUN09, MEXICANA is reducing Mexico City – Vancouver service during 2009/10 Winter schedule.
Overall frequency being reduced from 11 to 9 weekly, with MX980/981 being cancelled on Day 34 (currently Daily, as well as 08/09 Winter)
UNITED 757 on LAX – Vancouver during Winter Olympics
As per GDS timetable display on 11JUN09, UNITED is operating Boeing 757 aircraft on Los Angeles – Vancouver service during 2010 Winter Olympics. The operating schedules are:

Lufthansa extra Vancouver service for Winter Olympics
As per GDS timetable display on 11JUN09, Lufthansa is planning to operate extra service on the Frankfurt – Vancouver route. The extra flights and the adjustments are:

Extra KLM flight to Vancouver in Feb 10
KLM is operating extra service on the Amsterdam – Vancouver route on Thursday 11FEB10, in anticipation of Winter 2010 Olympics.
As per GDS timetable display, KLM does not operate service to Vancouver on Day 47 in 2009/10 Winter schedule.
Garuda resumes domestic service to Pangkalpinang
Garuda Indonesia on 01JUN09 resumed Jakarta – Pangkalpinang service with Boeing 737-300. Schedule is the following:

airberlin drops Nuremberg – Rijeka

As per GDS timetable display on 11JUN09, TAM is reducing Sao Paulo – New York JFK service. The cut involves on flight JJ8082/8083, on the following periods:

SIA A380 to Hong Kong from July 2009
As per GDS timetable update on 11JUN09 (in the last 30 minutes or so of this posting), Singapore Airlines is introducing Airbus A380 service on the Singapore – Hong Kong SQ856*/861 service starting 09JUL09. The A380 flight replace current 777-300ER service
Co-inciding with the change, SQ860/863 will become 777-300ER service, replacing -300.
*SQ862 becomes SQ856 from 09JUL09
With the change, there will be 9.5% of capacity increase.
Air India phase out 747-400 from long-haul service by Sep 09
As per GDS timetable display on 11JUN09, Air India is gradually phasing out Boeing 747-400 aircraft on its long-haul (Europe/US) service with Boeing 777 aircraft starting 01JUL09. The adjustments are:
Ahmedabad – Frankfurt
01JUL09 – 31JUL09 777-200LR
01AUG09 and onward 777-300ER
Mumbai – Frankfurt – Newark
01SEP09 and onward 777-300ER
Above routes mentioned are currently operated by Boeing 747-400, which is the airlines’ only Long-haul service. If this plan is materialized, the Boeing 747-400 aircraft will be operating on India – Saudi Arabia routes only, and the 777-200LR/-300ER operates long-haul service to US and Europe (excluding Paris which is served by A330-200)

Air India is operating Boeing 777-200LR aircraft on the following routes on selected period.

Air NZ 744 to Sydney in Feb 10

China Southern to start Dhaka service
As per GDS inventory display, China Southern is to start 3 weekly Guangzhou – Dhaka service from 05JUL09.

Lufthansa Final A300 flight update
As per GDS inventory and seat map display on 11JUN09, Lufthansa’s FINAL AIRBUS A300-600R service is still scheduled to be Rome – Frankfurt LH3853 service on 01JUL09
Virgin Atlantic 25th anniversary celebration flight 22JUN09
Virgin Atlantic Airways on 22JUN09 will be celebrating its 25th anniversary. Assumed celebratory flight should be expected on the ground as well as onboard flight VS001, London Heathrow – Newark service.
25 years ago on 22JUN84, VS001 took off from London Gatwick for its maiden flight to Newark with a leased Boeing 747.
China Southern reduce Summer LAX flight
As per GDS timetable display on 11JUN09, China Southern will retain 3 weekly service on its Guangzhou – Los Angeles service.
Service operates 3 times a week on Day 257 from Guangzhou, and increase to 4 from 04AUG09 (Day x146). It usually operates 5 weekly in Summer
AEROFLOT drops Guangzhou for the ?th time + reduce Havana increase
AEROFLOT has ONCE AGAIN removed planned Moscow Sheremetyevo – Guangzhou service, for the uncountable time in 2 years.
The Russian carrier originally planned to start 3 weekly service from 28MAR09, but postponed to 01JUN09, then further pushed back to 25OCT09, and it has now been removed completely.
Also, planned increase on the Moscow Sheremetyevo – Havana route from 3 weekly (Day 146) to Daily from 22DEC09, has been scaled back to just 5 weekly (Day x35)
