Lufthansa back to Daily on Samara service from Nov 09
As per GDS timetable display on 19JUN09, Lufthansa’s Frankfurt – Samara service is returning to Daily from 25OCT09, after being temporary reduced to 4 weekly between 01JUL09 and 24OCT09.
The reduction is due to the cancellation of extension service to Ufa.
Virgin Atlantic 747 to Lagos in Aug 09
As per GDS timetable display on 19JUN09, Virgin Atlantic is operating Boeing 747-400 aircraft instead of A340-600 on its Daily London Heathrow – Lagos route, between 01AUG09 and 11SEP09.
Lagos departure is the following day.
Virgin Nairobi September 09 Reductions
As per GDS timetable display on 19JUN09, Virgin Atlantic from 02SEP09 to 29SEP09 is reducing London Heathrow – Nairobi service to 6 weekly. LHR departure is not available on Day 4 and Nairobi on Day 5
Japan/Italy new bilateral deal
Japan and Italy this week concluded new bilateral deal, which sees major progress on the following:
Tokyo Narita
As early as March 2010, Italian carrier is able to add extra 4 weekly flights, but 2 of these is required to operate as codeshare service.
Japanese carrier should receive equal opportunity if Italian carriers do so
Osaka / Nagoya and others
In addition to Tokyo and Osaka, 2 other destinations including Nagoya can be added.
Service on Osaka Kansai can increase from 4 to 7 weekly
Codesharing
Codeshare service to Domestic Italian destinations (Excluding Rome/Milan) via other EU cities is possible
Restrictions on domestic Italian codeshare flight will be loosen
China Eastern increase Kunming – Taipei service
China Eastern Airlines from 01JUL09 is increasing 1 weekly Kunming – Taipei Taoyuan to 2 weekly.
New frequency operates on Day 2.
Shanghai Air charter to Manado
Shanghai Airlines in July 2009 is to operate few charter service from Shanghai to Manado in Indonesia
Turkish Airlines launching Gothenburg service
Starting 29JUN09 Turkish Airlines is launching 3 weekly Istanbul – Gothenburg service with 737-800.

JAL Final 747-300 International Service
JAL has announced its FINAL Boeing 747-300 INTERNATIONAL service is set for 30JUL09, JO/JL073 Honolulu – Tokyo Narita.

The Boeing 747-300 is the only fleet type to sport all 3 generations of JAL corporate identity, thus dubbed “3 Mark Jet”(JAL 747-400 only sported 2). It is also known as the 747 Classics or Classic Jumbo.
With the final JAL Boeing 747-300 International service, it will be conducting farewell 747-300 International tour, limited to 30 travelers. Parts of the tour includes:
*90-minute tour of JAL Tokyo Haneda Airport hangar with orientation
*3-day, 2-night stay in Honolulu
*Final Boeing 747-300 service, with special captain announcement
Departure is on 28JUL09, costs 74700 Yen.

Jeju Air from 21JUL09 to 29AUG09 is operating 2 extra weekly Seoul Incheon – Osaka Kansai service.
