DELTA 2009/10 Winter International Changes
The following is DELTA and subsidiary nwa’s International service for the 2009/10 Winter Season. Most of the changes goes in effect from 25OCT09, but some that sees the changes on earlier or later date is being noted as well. The unit of the frequency is weekly.
All data is based on GDS timetable/inventory display as of 14JUL09. Further changes expected.
The complete list, which excludes service between US and Canada, US and Mexico, US and Caribbean Islands, as well as nwa intra-Asia/Guam/Saipan routes, are the following:
Some European routes sees increase or bigger aircraft compared to Winter 08/09 season, which may be a tentative plan, and is subject to be reduced to its normal level in winter.

As per GDS timetable display on 14JUL09, DELTA to operate Boeing 777-200ER aircraft on the Atlanta – New York JFK route starting August 2009. Boeing 777-200LR is also scheduled to operate the route in Winter 09/10 schedule.

Service in Northern Winter 08/09 season was 767-300.
Shenzhen Airlines launch Kota Kinabalu
Shenzhen Airlines has launched 2 weekly Shenzhen – Kota Kinabalu service on 10JUL09.

AIRFRANCE plans A380 to Tokyo in Spring 10
AIRFRANCE plans to deploy Airbus A380 aircraft on the Paris CDG – Tokyo Narita route in Spring 2010.
flydubai postpone India launch
flydubai has delayed its planned launch to India altogether.
Scheduled service to Lucknow (eff 13JUL09), Coimbatore (eff 14JUL09) and Chandigarh (eff 23JUL09) are postponed due to “operational issues”
Continental to resume Guam – Osaka from Dec 09
Per Japanese Travel Press Travelvision report on 14JUL09, Continental is to resume Guam – Osaka service from 23DEC09.
Service first launched in September 1994 but ended in October 2003. It was briefly operated during the Summer peak season in 2006.
Air India extends 77L svc on Ahmedabad – Frankfurt
As per GDS timetable display on 14JUL09, Air India’s Boeing 777-200LR operating service on the Ahmedabad – Frankfurt route is extended till 24OCT09.
The 777-300ER is to enter operation on 25OCT09, originally was 01AUG09.
Icelandair plans 5th weekly flight to Seattle in Summer 10
As per GDS timetable display on 14JUL09, Icelandair is to add 5th weekly frequency to the NEW Reykjavik – Seattle service from 04MAY10.
The 4 weekly service will begin on 22JUL09.
Air Canada postpone Vancouver – China increase till Aug 09
As per GDS timetable display on 14JUL09, planned Air Canada service increase on the Vancouver – Beijing and Vancouver – Shanghai route didn’t went into effect this month as planned.
The increase will begin from 03AUG09
Jet Airways to start Hyderabad – Dubai from Aug 09
As per GDS timetable display on 14JUL09, Jet Airways is starting 1 Daily Hyderabad – Dubai service from 16AUG09.

Emirates A380 to Birmingham on 09SEP09
As per GDS INVENTORY display on 14JUL09, Emirates is operating Airbus A380 aircraft on the Dubai – Birmingham EK039/040 service, on 09SEP09.
Due to this change, EK001/002 Dubai – London Heathrow service on the same day operates with 3-class 777-300ER with First Class Suite.
DELTA reduce Sydney flights Sep – Dec 09
As per GDS INVENTORY display on 14JUL09, DELTA is reducing Atlanta – Los Angeles – Sydney service to 6 weekly, from 13SEP09 to 07DEC09.
ATL/LAX Departure is not operating on Day 7, and SYD departure is cancelled on Day 2.
Atlanta – Los Angeles sector on the days which 777-200LR flight is cancelled, is subbed with Boeing 757-200.
