Lufthansa aircraft swap to Lagos in W09/10
As per GDS timetable display on 30JUL09, Lufthansa is switching Airbus A340-600 to -300 on the Frankfurt – Lagos route from 25OCT09.
However, A340-600 is operating from 11DEC09 to 23DEC09, as well as 02JAN10 – 12JAN10
Lufthansa reduction and adjustments to Cairo
As per GDS timetable display on 30JUL09, Lufthansa in the Winter 2009/10 season is reducing Frankfurt – Cairo route from 2 to 1 Daily.
With the reduction, its 1 Daily service starting 25OCT09 will be operated by Airbus A340-600. There will also be a change of flight schedules, which morning and afternoon flights consolidating to 1300LT departure from FRA. New flight number is also placed.

As per GDS timetable display on 29JUL09, AIRFRANCE is introducing Airbus A380 Super Jumbo on Paris CDG – New York JFK AF006/007 service, STARTING 23NOV09. The A380 operates 6 times a week (except Wednesday, operating with 777-300ER)
On 20NOV09/21NOV09, AIRFRANCE is planning special commemoration A380 flight on this route, which all seats will be available through auction only in October.
Effective December 2009, AIRFRANCE service to New York JFK is operating 3 Daily Boeing 777-200ER and 1 Daily A380/777-300ER

Air Canada 6th weekly flight to Chile/Argentina
As per GDS timetable display on 28JUL09, Air Canada is adding 6th weekly flight on the Toronto – Santiago de Chile – Buenos Aires in the Northern Winter 09/10 season.
Service operates Day x3 from Toronto from 25OCT09, and is switching from Boeing 767 to 777-300ER as planned from 01DEC09.
Continental / Air Canada applies codesharing
As expected, Continental Airlines has issued first application to the Department of Transportation (DoT) for codeshare service with Air Canada. In the application, Continental includes mainline, Colgan Air and Continental Micronesia. Air Canada includes mainline and Jazz.

Continental 764 on Houston – Rio
As per GDS timetable display on 28JUL09, Continental’s NEW Houston – Rio de Janeiro service is to be operated by Boeing 767-400ER instead of planned -200ER, effective 06AUG09.
Per display, the 767-400 is scheduled to operate until 16DEC09 for the time being.
Yemenia further reduce Paris service
As per GDS timetable display on 28JUL09, Yemenia has further reduced service to Paris CDG.
Service is now showing operating 1 weekly nonstop, a reduction from 2 weekly after the crash of its Airbus A310 aircraft.

BA Dubai reductions in W09/10
As per GDS timetable display on 28JUL09, British Airways is reducing service on the London Heathrow – Dubai service from 21 to 17 weekly during selected periods in Winter 09/10 season.
BA105/104, Boeing 767 service will see the reductions to 3 weekly in most of Winter: 25OCT09 – 10DEC09 and 18JAN10 – 27MAR10. Service from LHR operates on Day 567 and Day 167 from Dubai.

American is adding 2 new domestic routes from Miami starting 19NOV09. It’ll be operating 1 Daily each to Charleston SC and Knoxville.

Air Pacific resurrects air link btwn West Samoa & Hawaii
As per GDS timetable display on 28JUL09, Air Pacific from 11SEP09 will launch 1 weekly Nadi – Apia – Honolulu service. The launch of the service marks the end of no direct air service between Apia (West Samoa) and Hawaii for over 8 years.
Polynesian Airlines last operated Apia – Honolulu with 1 weekly service in 2001.
The 1 weekly flight on Fridays, will replace current nonstop flight to Honolulu. Overall frequencies to Apia, increases from 2 to 3 weekly.

As per GDS timetable display on 28JUL09, Philippine Airlines is reducing service to Las Vegas from 14AUG09 and Vancouver from 10SEP09. These reductions are temporary.

Chinese news agency Xinhua on 28JUL09 reports that Philippine Airlines launched 2 weekly Kalibo/Boracay – Hangzhou service with Airbus A320 on 27JUL09
The flight operates on Day 15, which should be a scheduled charter flight.

Camdobia Angkor Air launches operation
Cambodia Angkor Air today begins operation (28JUL09) with ATR72. The airline is a joint-venture between Vietnam Airlines and Cambodian Government.
It will operate Phnom Penh – Siem Reap, Phnom Penh – Ho Chi Minh and Siem Reap – Ho Chi Minh. The airline code is “K6″, and Vietnam Airlines will be placing its “VN” flight number on these routes.
