Final American Airlines A300 service last minute revision
As per a note responded to one of the blog posting earlier, due to aircraft technical issues on one of its Boeing 767-300, American Airlines has placed Airbus A300-600R aircraft to operate AA1582 Santo Domingo – New York JFK.
The flight, supposed to depart on 24AUG09, did not depart until 25AUG09. The A300 pulled from the gate at 0822, took off at 0852, and landed in JFK at 1210
Turkish to launch Antalya – Stockholm
As per GDS timetable display on 25OCT09, Turkish Airlines is to launch 1 weekly Antalya – Stockholm service. Service operates every Saturday with 737-800.

Transaero to introduce 737-800 service
As per GDS timetable display on 25AUG09, Transaero is to be the latest Boeing 737-800 operator. It is currently operating service on Moscow Domodedovo – Almaty route on selected dates in Summer season
The 737-800 will be phasing in service on the following routes during 2009/10 winter season:

Moscow Domodedovo – Astana 1 Daily
Moscow Domodedovo – London Heathrow 1 Daily

As per GDS timetable display on 25AUG09, Transaero has launched 3 weekly Moscow Domodedovo – Phuket service. Service currently operates with 777-200ER.
Service will increase to 5 weekly from 25OCT09 for Winter 09/10 season

DELTA reduce NY – Moscow in Summer 10
As per GDS timetable display on 25AUG09, DELTA is reducing New York JFK – Moscow Sheremetyevo service from Daily to 5 weekly in 2010 Summer schedule.
The reduction goes in effect from 29MAR10. Day 13 from JFK is cancelled.
Continental 777 to Frankfurt and Rome in Summer 2010
As per GDS timetable display on 25AUG09, Continental is to operate Boeing 777-200ER aircraft instead of 767-400ER on the following routes in Summer 2010.

As per GDS timetable display on 25AUG09, Continental’s Summer 2 Daily Newark – Amsterdam is operated by Boeing 757 only, in the 2010 Summer season.

THAI A340-600 to re-launch Abu Dhabi route
As per GDS timetable display on 25AUG09, THAI is now displaying Airbus A340-600 operating the re-launch service of Bangkok – Abu Dhabi service.
Previously the service was to be resumed with A330-300 from 26OCT09.
THAI to Jeddah from Winter 09/10
As per GDS timetable display on 25AUG09, THAI is starting 4 weekly Bangkok – Jeddah service from 25OCT09. The launch marks the end of no direct nonstop air service between Thailand and Saudi Arabia for nearly 20 years, with the “Blue Diamond Affair” incident occurred in 1989.
The incident description can be found here, which lead to high tensions between the countries, and the severance of air traffic service.

KE691/692, Day 4 service is operated by Boeing 777-200, while the other days is operated by Airbus A330-300. It also operates 2 weekly 737-900 as KE693/694
bmi temporary removes Air Canada codeshare
As per GDS timetable and INVENTORY display on 25AUG09, it appears that bmi has temporary removed its “BD” code on Air Canada’s service between Canada and the UK
Cathay Pacific to start codeshare with Air Pacific
As per GDS timetable display on 25AUG09, Cathay Pacific will begin codeshare with Air Pacific when the latter launching 2 weekly Nadi – Hong Kong service from 03DEC09. Codeshare service is now available to book and for ticket issuance.
