DELTA changing nwa operating Domestic flight number

As per 12SEP09 GDS Timetable display, DELTA has changed all nwa operating flight numbers, starting 01NOV09 for North American routes. The new flight number categories are under NW2000 – 2999 and NW7000 – 7999. Once DELTA completes flight integration (flight number-wise), they will be changed to “DL” code with these flight number range.

EDIT as of 1013PDT 12SEP09: The flight number grouping is actually based on operating aircraft. Category as follows:

NW2000 – 2999 Airbus A319/320, Airbus A330, Boeing 757.
NW7000 – 7999 DC9

The following is a quick summary of the general flight number range by region, note there will be some exceptions to these regions. In addition, these only applies to MAINLINE only flights.

North-East (New York State and Northward) NW7000 – 7999
North-East (Pennsylvania and Southward) NW2000 – 2999 (PHL/RDU also sees NW7000 – 7999)
South-East and Florida NW2000 – 2999
Great Lakes NW7000 – 7999
Midwest (Incl. Prairie States, Tennessee except Memphis) NW7000 – 7999
Memphis NW2000 – 2999/7000 – 7999
Gulf States NW7000 – 7999
Texas NW7000 – 7999
Dakotas NW7000 – 7999
Rockies (except Montana) NW2000 – 2999
Montana NW7000 – 7999
West Coast (Incl. Southwest states) NW2000 – 2999
Alaska/Hawaii NW2000 – 2999
Puerto Rico NW2000 – 2999
Canada / Mexico / Caribbean / Central America NW2000 – 2999
