KLM 777-300ER to San Francisco; Summer 10 highlights
The following is KLM’s planned 2010 Summer long-haul network. As of 15OCT09 GDS timetable display, major highlights are:
- Boeing 777-300ER operation to San Francisco
- MD11 operation for 1 month to Atlanta
- Dubai sees reduction from 12 weekly to 10 compared to Summer 09
- Tehran increases from 5 to 6 weekly compared to Summer 09

The following is Northwest Orient (formerly known as nwa, now DELTA)’s Winter 1985/86 Trans-Pacific and Trans-Atlantic network. All flights operated by Boeing 747, which most flights offers Sleeper Seats.

Air New Zealand on 22DEC09 is operating extra Auckland – Niue service with Boeing 737-300. Niue departure is 21DEC09.

Austrian from 25OCT09 is cancelling Vienna – Hanover 3 Daily service.
Olympic Air operation update 2
Due to the traffic rights issues, Olympic Air’s following International destinations are currently operating on behalf of the old Olympic Airlines, which currently uses “OP” flight number. (The “new” Olympic Air uses OA):
Alexandria, Beirut, Belgrade, Cairo, Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Tirana
As per CH-Aviation post on 11OCT09, the following domestic service are currently operating on behalf of the old Olympic Airlines, which some of the flights will see “OP”-coded flight number instead of “OA”. These routes are known as Public Service Obligation routes (PSO). The bidding process for PSO are postponed until after the upcoming Greek National Elections. Read more
Uzbekistan Airways increase Malaysia flight
Uzbekistan Airways from 25OCT09 is adding 3rd weekly frequency on the Tashkent – Kuala Lumpur route. Schedule as follows:

Cathay Pacific/Dragonair Dec 09 Japan charters
Cathay Pacific and Dragonair each will operate 3 round-trip charter services between Japan and Hong Kong at the end of the year.
Cathay Pacific is to operate 1 round-trip each from Tokyo Haneda, Sendai and Niigata with Airbus A330-300. Departure from Japan on 30DEC09 and return on 03JAN10.
Dragonair is to operate 1 round-trip each from Kumamoto, Takamatsu and Hiroshima with Airbus A320. Flights departing from Japan on 30DEC09, return is 02JAN10. (Takamatsu 31DEC09 – 03JAN10)
Flights from Sendai and Niigata will allow connections to Cebu.
Edelweiss to Goa; W09 Maldives operation
Edelweiss in 2009/10 Winter season is including Goa in India to its service to Maldives. Routing operate as Zurich – Goa – Male – Zurich. Service operates once a week.

AEROFLOT keeps Il96 pax service in W09/10
Per GDS timetable display on 15OCT09, AEROFLOT is to continue operating Ilyushin Il96 aircraft in the Winter 2009/10 season. Previously it was thought the airline will be retiring all Soviet-built jet on 24OCT09.
The Ilyushin Il-96 is being assigned on 3 weekly Moscow – Hurghada and 3 weekly Moscow – Sharm el Sheikh service. Schedules as follows: Read more
