QATAR 2010 Summer Highlights
As per 12NOV09 GDS inventory display QATAR Airways has adjusted its 2010 Summer network. Note this is the first major changes and further adjustments are expected. Note this REPLACE the planned 2010 Summer operation that was posted on 02MAY09 and 04MAY09
Changes as follows:
British Airways / IBERIA signs MoU for Merger Deal
British Airways and IBERIA has just announced an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of the merger deal, which creates about 400 Million Euros os synergies. (Reuters)
The newly-merged company, to be formalized in 10Q1 and complete by the end of 2010, sees British Airways controls 55% share while IBERIA holds 45%
Iberia’s chairman Antonio Vazquez will be chairman of the new company, while BA’s Chief Executive Willie Walsh will be CEO.
However, the deal may collapse as…
Iberia said it reserves the right to back out of the deal if the final agreement between BA and the administrators of its pensin deficit is not “reasonably satisfactory.”
DELTA changes to Vietnam; pull out by Mar 10
Per GDS inventory display ON 12NOV09, DELTA is reducing then canceling service on the Tokyo – Ho Chi Minh route, currently operated by subsidiary nwa.
From 02JAN10, service reduced from Daily to 4 weekly (Day x136 from NRT).
From 26MAR10, service cancelled, just after 9 months of the launch.
Porter Seasonal launch to Myrtle Beach
Porter Airlines announced it will be launching 2 weekly Toronto City – Myrtle Beach service from 28FEB10 to 30MAY10. This will be the only nonstop service from Canada to Myrtle Beach.
UNITED 3rd Daily Denver – Toronto from Feb 10
UNITED from 11FEB10 is adding 3rd Daily Denver – Toronto service. Service operates with UNITED Express Embraer E170. Schedule as follows: Read more 
ASIANA Cargo to Milan
ASIANA Cargo today (12NOV09) launches 2 weeklyservice to Milan Malpensa. Routing is Seoul Incheon – London Stansted – Milan Malpensa – Seoul Incheon
Estonian Air increase Tallinn – Vilnius
Estonian Air from 16NOV09 is increasing Tallinn – Vilnius service from 8 to 10 weekly. The new flight is OV655/656 service operating on Day 15.
jetBlue Boston expansion schedule
jetBlue on 29OCT09 announced expansion in the Boston market in 2010. It will be expanding its presence by 30% in terms of departures. Detailed schedules and the launch dates are the following: (Note these schedules vary during certain periods)
MEA Daily to Baghdad
Middle East Airlines from 18DEC09 is increasing Beirut – Baghdad service from 4 weekly (Day x135) to Daily.
SIA 772 to Sydney Feb/Mar 10
As per 12NOV09 GDS timetable display, Singapore Airlines has further adjusted aircraft operation on Singapore – Sydney SQ219/220 service from 01FEB10.
Planned 777-300 service from 01FEB10 is shelved, and being operated by 777-200ER instead. SQ219/220 planned aircraft operation until 31JAN10 was posted on 26OCT09
TAAG Angola to Cuba
TAAG Angola on 09DEC09 is to operate Luanda – Ilha do Sal – Havana route (Havana departure 2 days later), as per 12NOV09 GDS timetable display. Starting 20JAN10, service operates bi-weekly.

EGYPTAIR cancels Montreal service
EGYPTAIR is canceling its seasonal Cairo – Montreal service. The summer only service will not be resumed in 2010.
EGYPTAIR doubles Tokyo service in 2010
EGYPTAIR from 31MAY10 is doubling service on the Cairo – Tokyo Narita route from 3 to 6 weekly. Operating aircraft is switching from Airbus A340 to Boeing 777 (assuming -300ER), which sees extra 60-80 seats per flight.

brussels airlines has started codeshare service on Star Alliance member ADRIA’s Brussels – Ljublajana service since 25OCT09.

Midwest Airlines has introduced Airbus A319 aircraft on the following routes since 03NOV09:

Midwest to launch SF & Raleigh form Milwaukee
Midwest Airlines from 01APR10 launches 2 Daily Milwaukee – Raleigh and 19APR10 launches 1 Daily Milwaukee – San Francisco. Former to operate with Embraer E170 and latter with Airbus A319.
