Taiwan / UK concludes bilateral air service revision
Taiwan and the UK on 12NOV09 has finalized the revision of bilateral air service deal. The last deal was signed in 1992. Highlights are:
- Passenger air service increase from 6 to 10 weekly
- 7 of 10 weekly flights permits 5th freedom traffic (which EVA Air is using all 7)
- Cargo service is included, 3 weekly flights each to London (designated to EVA) and Manchester (designated to China Airlines), with 5th freedom rights (current cargo traffic rights is granted temporary)
- Codeshare operation permitted
- EVA Air receives 7th weekly frequency (See above)
- China Airlines designated as 2nd carrier operating this route, and can operate up to 3 weekly service to London on non-stop basis
