China Southern and China Eastern in 2009/10 Winter season continues to maintain codeshare agreement, which covers the following:

An AIRFRANCE Airbus A330-200 issued a mayday call over the Atlantic on 30NOV09, reported by The Aviation Herald. AIRFRANCE AF445, was operating from Rio de Janeiro to Paris CDG, 29NOV09 departure.

China Airlines to Miyazaki from Jan 2010
China Airlines from 21JAN10 launches Taipei – Miyazaki 2 weekly service. This route previously was operated by EVA Air, which pulled out citing to poor load.

TAP Portugal/Aegean expands codeshare via Madrid
TAP Portugal and Aegean Airlines starting 01DEC09 expands their codeshare service via Madrid, as the latter launches Madrid – Athens service. The pair already codeshares via Barcelona in Spain.

brussels airlines/TAP expands codesharing from Jan 10
Starting 12JAN10, brussels airlines and TAP Portugal will enter phase 2 of the codeshare agreement, which sees brussels’ “SN” code appears on TAP’s Domestic service, while the latter’s “TP” code appears on selected European service on SN.

MAS Beijing reductions in Jan 2010
As per GDS timetable display on 30NOV09, Malaysia Airlines is reducing Kuala Lumpur – Beijing service from Daily to 5 weekly between 30DEC09 and 26JAN10.

TAP Portugal postpone Algiers launch till Jan 2010
TAP Portugal’s planned 3 weekly Lisbon – Algiers service has been postponed till January. The new launch date is now set for 03JAN10.
Hewa Bora European cancellation
Hewa Bora Airways as per 30NOV09 GDS timetable display is showing cancellation of European service from 10DEC09 to 12JAN10.
In Winter 2009 season, the airline operates Boeing 757 Kinshasa – Brussels – Paris CDG 1 weekly service.
Jet Airways new Mumbai – Dhaka launch date
Jet Airways is now currently scheduling Mumbai – Dhaka launch on 23DEC09. This new route has been postponed for several times during 2009.

Felix Airways launched 2 new Saudi Cities
Felix Airways of Yemen has launched new service to Saudi Arabia. On 12NOV09, it launched service to Madinah 2 weekly, and 1 weekly service to Dammam on 26NOV09.
In addition to these new international service, it currently also operates 2 weekly to Sharjah, 3 weekly to Jeddah, 1 weekly to Salalah in Oman and 3 weekly to Djibouti. All service operates with CRJ700.

UNITED to Rotorua with Air New Zealand
UNITED will begin codeshare on Air New Zealand’s Sydney – Rotorua route when the latter launch this service from 12DEC09. Codeshare flight numbers as follows:
Gulf Air Bangkok Summer 10 changes
Per GDS timetable display on 30NOV09, Gulf Air is reducing Bahrain – Bangkok service from 12 weekly to 7 weekly with various schedules from 27MAR10. It operated 11 weekly service in Summer 09. Schedules as follows:

JAL cancels 3 Routes from Shinshu-Matsumoto
JAL on Monday 30NOV09 announced additional withdrawal of Domestic service, which sees the airline pulls out from Shinshu-Matsumoto airport, where it operates 3 routes.
Cancellation of the service out of Shinshu-Matsumoto is in effect from 01JUN10. Current routes are:
Air Canada/Lufthansa France codeshare expansion
Air Canada has expanded its codeshare service with Lufthansa which covers service to France. The new codeshare destinations are Lyon, Marseille, and Toulouse. Service to Nice is now also available in addition to previously existed codeshare agreement with SAS.

ASIANA/Continental to launch codesharing
ASIANA’s Dec 2009 edition timetable is now showing codeshare service with Continental Airlines. The following is the planned codeshare routes and flight numbers taken from the timetable, although there may be additional codeshare service available.
Currently, these flights are scheduled to begin from 15DEC09, but as of this post goes to press, they are currently not yet available to book.
Shandong Air launch Jinan – Osaka
Shandong Airlines has launched Jinan – Osaka Kansai scheduled charter service. Service operates with 737-700 twice a week.
