BA Cabin Crew plans 12-day strike during Xmas/New Year
British Airways’ cabin crew has voted “overwhelmingly” in favored of 12-conseuctive day strike during Christmas and New Year period. Planned strike date is from 22DEC09 to 02JAN10. The airline has asked the union to return to the bargaining table in order avoid the strike.
Over 92% of the votes favored the strike, quoted by the Union Boss, during an interview with the BBC.
ANA/ETIHAD to launch codesharing
ANA and ETIHAD starting 01MAR10 will begin codeshare and frequent flier partnership. On the codeshare side, ANA’s “NH” code will be displayed on all ETIHAD’s service between Abu Dhabi and Japan, with Nagoya service starting that date, then Tokyo on 28MAR10. ETIHAD’s “EY” code appears on 3 selected Japanese routes.

Frontier/Midwest expands codesharing
Frontier Airlines and Midwest Airlines last week expanded their codeshare agreement, covers each airlines’ all service within the Domestic US, except Kansas City.
Estonian Air to launch Nice & Athens S10
Estonian Air from 01MAY10 to 31JUL10 launches 1 weekly Tallinn – Nice route . 1 weekly Tallinn – Athens will also be launched from 05JUL10 to 16AUG10 only. Schedule as follows:
UNI Air launch 3 new China routes
UNI Air from 25JAN10 launches 3 new routes from Taipei Taoyuan to China – 1 weekly service to Wuhan, 1 weekly to Chongqing and 2 weekly to Nanjing. Service operates with MD90 except Nanjing, with parent EVA Air’s A330-200. Schedule as follows:
US Airways / UNITED China codeshare
US Airways’ “US” code is appearing on UNITED’s service to China. Codeshare routes and flight numbers as follows. Note some flights operating on certain periods only.
DELTA Asia flight number swap
As per GDS timetable display on 14DEC09, DELTA once again is changing flight numbers on nwa operating service to Asia. The new flight number range is NW600 – 699. The change comes into 2 phases with first phase from 11JAN10. A list will be posted once the GDS discrepancies are sorted out.
Alitalia increase Rome – Tokyo from Jun 10
As per GDS timetable display on 14DEC09, Alitalia is to increase Rome – Tokyo Narita service from 7 to 9 weekly from 05JUN10. Extra 2 weekly flights operating with 777. With existing 3 weekly service from Milan, it’ll offer 12 weekly service in total.
