Asky Airlines launches 15JAN10
Asky Airlines, a new joint venture project with Ethiopian Airlines, is launching operation on 15JAN10. The Lome, Togo-based airline is operating the service with Boeing 737, using Ethiopian Airlines’ “ET” code.
From it’s Lome hub, it’ll offer service to Abidjan, Banjul, Brazzaville, Cotonou, Dakar, Douala, Kinshasa, Lagos, Libreville, and Ouagadougou.

Air New Zealand launch nonstop Sydney – Rarotonga
As per 21DEC09 GDS timetable display, Air New Zealand from July to September 2010 launches NONSTOP Sydney – Rarotonga service, this would be the first nonstop service between Australia and the Cook Islands is recent years. Service operates with Boeing 767-300ER.

Lufthansa keeps reduced Frankfurt – Seoul freq in S10
As per 21DEC09 GDS timetable display, Lufthansa is to maintain 5 weekly service on the Frankfurt – Seoul Incheon service. In Summer 2009 service operates up to Daily.
However, it’ll maintain 6 weekly Munich – Seoul service in Summer.
SWISS Reduce Cairo from Jun 10
As per 21DEC09 GDS timetable display, SWISS from 07JUN10 is reducing Zurich – Cairo service from Daily to 6 weekly. Day 2 service is canceled.
Garuda cancels 2 Hong Kong routes
Garuda Indonesia has canceled its 4 weekly Denpasar – Hong Kong as well as 3 weekly Surabaya – Hong Kong service. There are no words on when these routes will be resumed.
Grupo TACA starts US Air codeshare 12JAN10
Grupo TACA’s TACA and LACSA starting 12JAN10 will be placing respective “TA” and “LR” code on the following US Airways’ service. Codeshare flight numbers and routes as follows ((US Airways’ codeshare routes by Grupo TACA can be found here):
QATAR postpone Osaka & Seoul service change till S10
As per 21DEC09, QATAR Airways’ planned service adjustment to split Osaka and Seoul service from 01FEB10, has been postponed till 28MAR10.
From 28MAR10, Doha – Osaka service operates with 777-300ER. This operates until 25APR10 and then switches to back to A330-200, and extends to Tokyo Narita. Doha – Seoul from the same date becomes nonstop with A330-200/-300
ETIHAD/Alitalia signs codeshare agreement MoU
ETIHAD and Alitalia last week signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for codesharing, which to take place from April 2010. Subject to Government approval, planned codeshare routes are the following:

Korean Air A330 to Chiang Mai in S10
