Lufthansa from 11JUN10 is introducing 526-seater Airbus A380 service on Frankfurt – Tokyo Narita route, 3 times a week but will increase to Daily from August 2010. Tokyo is Lufthansa’s 1st A380 route, followed by Beijing from 25AUG10 and Johannesburg from 25OCT10

JAL Group Route Restructure Announcement
JAL Group on Wednesday (28APR10) announced it’s network restructure plan, which goes into effect from 01OCT10. Including the route restructure, it is also retiring all Boeing 747-400 and Airbus A300-600R aircraft by the end of March 2011. These measures will accelerate the Group’s cost-cutting plan goal from 3 years to just under 12 months.
The latest restructure announced by the airline sees additional 15 routes (86 weekly flights) on International service and additional 30 Domestic routes (up to 58 Daily) flights being canceled. In total, JAL Group is cutting 28 International Routes (including pulling-out of 11 airports) and 50 Domestic (8 airports pull out). Compared to FY2008, Available Seat Kilometer (ASK) offered, sees 40% and 30% reduction on International and Domestic service.
