Turkish Airlines plans 2-class 777-300ER to Beijing from Nov 2010

As per 30JUN10 GDS timetable display, Turkish Airlines’ first owned Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, configured in Business/Economy, is planning to operate Istanbul – Beijing route from 07NOV10.

The 777-300ER operates 3 times a week, on Day 247 from IST, Day 135 from PEK.

Note this is initial plan. Further changes are expected.

Air China new service to Ali – Reservation Info

According to local news report, Air China’s new service to Ali Airport in Tibet, will have weight and capacity restriction.

The airport handles 2 weekly flight. Due to weather and elevation issue (plateau region) of the airport, 124-seater Airbus A319 can only carry up to 60 passengers in Winter, and 30 in Summer.

ANA launch ANA Wings from Oct 2010

ANA today announced the new carrier name, which is led-by planned merger of 3 of its Group carriers.

Air Nippon Network will absorb Air Central and Air Next. Subject to government approval, the newly-merged carrier, under the foundation of Air Nippon Network, will be called ANA Wings, operating a fleet of Dash8 and Boeing 737 aircraft.

Ryanair cuts UK W10 capacity 16%

In a press statement, Ryanair announced it is cutting capacity for the UK market by 16% from November 2010, equivalent of 2 million passengers for W10 (comparison to W09).

In particular, London Stansted sees capacity reduced by 17% with 22 aircraft based instead of 24. this translates to 135 weekly flight reductions.

DELTA flight number change on San Francisco – Tokyo – Beijing W10

From 30OCT10, DELTA’s Daily San Francisco – Tokyo Narita – Beijing DL635/634 flight number, becomes DL059/058.

This route will continue to operate with Boeing 767 (previously Narita – Beijing was default to Airbus A330)

ANA 77W Daily to Frankfurt till Sep 10; New “Men Only” washroom service

ANA’s new long-haul inflight product, Inspiration of Japan, on Boeing 777-300ER (77W) aircraft has started Daily operation since 23JUN10 on Tokyo Narita – Frankfurt service.

The Star Alliance member has also introduced a new service feature quietly on board the 77W, the world’s First “Men Only” washroom, according to the seat map, in addition to the heavily publicized “Women only” washroom. Both specific gender-only washroom is also being rolled out on other long-haul aircraft.

Air New Zealand to end 737 Pacific Islands service by Dec 10

Air New Zealand from mid-December is to operate Airbus A320 aircraft on 1 weekly Auckland – Niue. This route is the airlines’ sole Boeing 737-300 Pacific Islands route till that time.

Meanwhile, Auckland – Norfolk Island service from 06NOV10 to 04DEC10 is temporary operated by Boeing 737-300 aircraft instead of A320.
