Ethiopian Airlines S10 aircraft changes to Johannesburg

As per 19JUL10 GDS timetable display, Ethiopian Airlines has switched from Boeing 767 to Boeing 757 aircraft on Addis Ababa – Johannesburg service. Boeing 757 is to operate this route for the entire Northern Summer 2010 season.

In previous update on this blog on 17MAY10, Ethiopian planned to operate Boeing 767 for entire Summer.

EVA Air cancel Taipei Taoyuan – Beijing increase

EVA Air has postponed planned increase on Taipei Taoyuan – Beijing service from 5 weekly to Daily. The increase, which was postponed till 01AUG10, is now completely canceled due to slot issues at Beijing Airport.

It will continue to operate BR716/715 5 weekly flight. BR736/735, the new 2 weekly flight is canceled till further notice.

China Airlines cancel Qingdao launch from Aug 2010

Due to slot negotiation/approval issues from China, China Airlines has canceled NEW Taipei Taoyuan – Qingdao 2 weekly service, scheduled to launch 18AUG10.

American Airlines and DELTA also encountered similar issues for their new Beijing service, which both carrier received slots during red-eye hours.

Malaysia Airlines increase Osaka from Jan 11; New Kota Kinabalu – Osaka schedule

Malaysia Airlines from 15JAN11 is adjusting operation on Osaka Kansai service. From that date, Kuala Lumpur – Osaka Kansai service will become 6 weekly nonstop, replacing 3 of 6 weekly service via Kota Kinabalu on inbound flight.

From 18JAN11, Kota Kinabalu – Osaka Kansai will become terminator service with 2 weekly 737-800 service. Overall service to Osaka will increase from 6 to 8 weekly as a result.

Air Canada reduce Toronto – Memphis from Aug 2010

From 03AUG10, Air Canada is reducing Toronto – Memphis service, which flight reduces from 13 to 11 weekly. This further reduces to 1 Daily from 06SEP10, until 30OCT10, the end of seasonal operation.

Transaero Domestic Russia Increase from Nov 2010

Transaero from 01NOV10 is expanding Domestic Russia service from Moscow Domodedovo, as per 19JUL10 GDS timetable display. This includes New service to Rostov, and 2nd Daily service (Weekdays) to Ekaterinburg and Novosibirsk, plus 7th weekly flight to Vladivostok.

British Airways restoring 7th Daily London Heathrow – New York JFK from Dec 10

British Airways from 01DEC10 is restoring 7th Daily London Heathrow – New York JFK service with Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.

Including service out of London City (with Airbus A318), BA operates up to 9 Daily flights to New York JFK and 3 to Newark by December 2010, as per 19JUL10 GDS timetable display. In total, there are up to 30 Daily flights operating between New York and London by the same period.

ANA new 777-300ER Inflight product to London Heathrow by Oct 2010

As per 19JUL10 GDS inventory display, ANA’s Boeing 777-300ER (77W) aircraft, featuring the new “Inspiration of Japan” inflight product, is to enter service on Tokyo Narita – London Heathrow service from 12OCT10, on daily basis.

London Heathrow is the 3rd route to feature the brand new ANA’s inflight product.

Note last minute aircraft change to the older 777-300ER (777) configuration is still possible.
