Dragonair to increase Hong Kong – Ningbo service in S11
Dragonair from 27MAR11 is increasing Hong Kong – Ningbo route from 7 to 10 weekly. New flight operates in evening hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from Hong Kong, and the following morning from Ningbo.

Azerbaijan Airlines to launch Karlovy Vary from Mar 2011 & Amsterdam from May 2011
Azerbaijan Airlines in Summer 2011 is introducing 2 new routes. Baku – Karlovy Vary is to operate from 27MAR11 once a week. From 24MAY11, it’ll launch 2 weekly Baku – Amsterdam service. Both routes to be operated by Airbus A319 aircraft.

airBaltic launch Riga – Oulu – Tromsø service late-Apr 2011
airBaltic from 29APR11 is launching 2 weekly Riga – Oulu – Tromsø service on board Dash8-Q400 aircraft. With the service launch, the airline will be offering Riga – Oulu sector on NONSTOP basis. In Summer 2011 season, service to Oulu operates 12 times a week via Turku as well.

Air Mauritius to launch Shanghai service from July 2011
Air Mauritius announced it’ll be offering service to Shanghai Pu Dong, starting 04JUL11. The airline is to operate 1 weekly Mauritius – Kuala Lumpur – Shanghai Pu Dong service on board Airbus A330-200 aircraft, becoming the First African carrier to fly to the financial capital of China.
As a result, Kuala Lumpur service increases to 3 weekly. It does not have local traffic on Kuala Lumpur – Shanghai sector, however.

Alitalia increase Los Angeles summer service to 6 weekly from Jun 2011
From 03JUN11 till 02OCT11, Alitalia is increasing Rome – Los Angeles service from 5 weekly to 6 weekly. Flight be operating Daily except Tuesdays.
Service operates with Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.

KLM to increase Dubai to 14 weekly in S11
As per 31JAN11 GDS timetable display, KLM is to increase Amsterdam – Dubai from 13 to 14 weekly. KL429/430, currently operating 6 times a week, will receive Daily frequencies. New flight departs Amsterdam on Fridays and Dubai on Saturdays.

Emirates S11 changes to Athens and Vienna service
Emirates from 27MAR11 is adjusting service to Athens and Vienna.
Dubai – Athens is reducing from 11 weekly to Daily. EK103/104 service with Airbus A340-500 is canceled, which the aircraft will be reassigned to Dubai – Vienna route, thus raising frequency to the Austrian capital from Daily to 11 weekly.

Philippine Airlines reduce Riyadh flight and suspension from Apr 2011
Philippine Airlines is gradually reducing service on Manila – Riyadh route, and eventually will cancel the service, as per 31JAN11 GDS inventory display.
From 30JAN11, 4 weekly service reduces to 3 with Saturdays departure from Manila (Sundays from Riyadh) canceled. From 09FEB11, this further reduce to 2 weekly with Tuesdays flight canceled (Wednesdays from Riyadh).
The airline is operating last flight on 31MAR11 from Manila, 01APR11 from Riyadh. Schedule until that date as follows:

Philippine Airlines adjustments to Bangkok service in S11
As per 31JAN11 GDS timetable display, Philippine Airlines adjusted Manila – Bangkok service in Summer 2011 season, which sees the airline to maintain 14 weekly service. Previously reported on this site on 19NOV10, it was to increase the service from 14 to 17 weekly, followed by the introduction of new 3 weekly Manila – Bangkok – Delhi (and 3 weekly Manila – Delhi).
However, this increase will not go ahead, but will see operational changes.

S7 Airlines to increase Beijing service in S11
As per 31JAN11 GDS timetable display, S7 Airlines plans to increase service to Beijing in Summer 2011 season, which goes into effect from 28MAR11.
From 08JUN11, the oneWorld member is launching 1 weekly Khabarovsk – Beijing route. On Novosibirsk – Beijing, flight increases from 3 to 6 weekly. Krasnojarsk – Beijing increases from 1 to 2 weekly. A 3rd weekly flight to be added on Irkutsk – Beijing from 18MAY11. Operational day changes in effect on Vladivostok – Beijing route.

Vladivostok Air increasing Vladivostok – Seoul service in S11
Vladivostok Air from 27MAR11 is adding 4th weekly service on Vladivostok – Seoul Incheon service. At the same time, Tupolev Tu204 aircraft is replacing Airbus A320 on this route for Summer 2011 season.
Khabarovsk – Seoul Incheon service remains 2 weekly with Tupolev Tu204 .
