KLM resumes Buenos Aires service in W11
KLM announced from 31OCT11, it’ll resume service to Buenos Aires, its 67th Inter-Continental destination, after 12 years of hiatus.
318-seater Boeing 777-200ER aircraft to operate 3 weekly Amsterdam – Buenos Aires, and 4th weekly frequency is currently being planned for Northern Summer 2012 season. The Skyteam member has announced the schedule for this flight but the reservation is not open until Friday 18FEB11.
KLM last operated service to Buenos Aires around 1998/99, with 3 weekly 747 service on Amsterdam – Sao Paulo – Buenos Aires – Santiago de Chile – Buenos aires – Amsterdam routing, KL791/792. The Amsterdam – Buenos Aires sector once again becomes KLM’s longest flight on non-stop basis.

KLM and airBaltic has concluded a codeshare agreement, which KLM places its “KL” code on airBaltic’s Amsterdam – Riga route. However, KLM does not have local traffic rights on this codeshare route, it can only be booked when connecting onto/from another KLM flight.

Cathay Pacific in Summer 2011 season is boosting service to Indonesia. From 27MAR11, Hong Kong – Surabaya increases from 6 weekly to Daily.
From the same date, the oneWorld carrier is boosting service on Hong Kong – Jakarta route from 18 to 21 weekly. However, from 27MAR11 to 11AUG11, the additional 3 weekly flights will operate via Singapore, then converts to nonstop, which offers unified 3 daily flight options in both direction.
