DELTA boosts Los Angeles – San Francisco flights to 11 Daily & Las Vegas to 8 from July 2011
DELTA in Summer 2011 season is further boosting Los Angeles operation.
On Los Angeles – San Francisco route, where it accelerated the plan to boosts frequencies, moving planned service increase from June 2011 to April 2011, from 5 to 8 Daily. From 01JUL11, this further increases to 11 Daily. 4 of 11 Daily is operated by Mesaba/Pinnacle by DELTA Connection. This will further enhance shuttle-style schedule with hourly operation at the bottom of the hour from both city.
Starting 01JUL11, Los Angeles – Las Vegas route increases from 7 to 9 Daily (6 Daily Apr – Jun 2011), including 1 Daily Mainline service.

Aegean Airlines expands Cyprus service: New Larnaca – London Heathrow route in S11
Aegean Airlines in Summer 2011 season is expanding service in Cyprus, where it’ll connects Larnaca with additional points in Greece, including Chania, Irakleion, Kos, Mykonos, Rhodes and Thira.
Service out of Athens remains 4 Daily, while Thessaloniki service increases from Daily to 11 weekly. Moreover, the Star Alliance member is launching 1 Daily Larnaca – London Heathrow flight, offering nonstop service between Cyprus and the UK.

Aegean Airlines S11 European Service Changes: Update 2
Aegean Airlines in Summer 2011 season is boosting European service, partially due to the route suspensions by Olympic Air.
The Star Alliance member is increasing service for entire Summer on flights to Brussels, London Heathrow, Paris. From July to September 2011, additional weekends service is added to Barcelona and Madrid. In addition, the airline is expanding service to Cyprus, which appears in separate post.

Garuda Indonesia to add 2nd Daily Jakarta – Hong Kong from mid-Jun 2011
As per 11MAR11 GDS timetable display, Garuda Indonesia is increasing Jakarta – Hong Kong service from 1 to 2 Daily, effective 16JUN11.
The 2nd Daily flight (overall 3rd) operates evening hours from Jakarta and morning from Hong Kong, on board Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

SAS to operate 1-time Tokyo – Lakselv & Evenes in Mar 2011
SAS this month operates 2 special one-way flight from Tokyo Narita to Norway for Aurora sight-seeing tours, in conjunction with Japan’s tour operator.
On Saturday 12MAR11, SAS operates Tokyo Narita – Lakselv and will operate Tokyo Narita – Harstad-Narvik/Evenes the following Saturday.

AVIANCA and Lufthansa starting yesterday began codeshare operation. Lufthansa’s “LH” code appears on selected Domestic Colombia market while “AV” code appears on LH Bogota – Frankfurt route.

Comair to launch Lanseria operation to Gaborone & Maputo from May 2011
Comair from May 2011 launches service out of Johannesburg’s 2nd airport, Lanseria, where it’ll offer 5 weekly to Gaborone and 8 weekly to Maputo. These new routes to be operated by ATR72 aircraft.

As of 0800GMT 11MAR11, following AIRFRANCE, Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific, China Eastern, China Southern, Emirates, jetStar, KLM, Malaysia Airlines, THAI and Singapore Airlines scheduled to arrive Tokyo Narita between 1500 – 1800hrs local time are diverted to other airports due to M8.9 Earthquake.
There are delays and cancellations reported for flights into Tokyo Narita at time this post goes to press.
Only those flights currently en route are listed, and diversion airport may be subject to change pending on when Tokyo Narita reopens.
