Air Koryo plans Pyongyang – Kuala Lumpur route launch
North Korean flag carrier Air Koryo is to launch Pyongyang – Kuala Lumpur service on board Tupolev Tu204 aircraft.
As per Sabre timetable display on 15MAR11, schedule is in effect from 28MAR11, but the airline officials on its facebook page says that this flight launch is “not set in concrete”, which may run in conjunction with its current Singapore service, although no schedule is found.

SriLankan Airlines to increase Frankfurt & Paris Route from Christmas 2011
As per 16MAR11 GDS timetable and inventory display, SriLankan Airlines plans to increase service on Colombo – Frankfurt and Colombo – Paris CDG service.
From 24DEC11, the airline is adding 1 extra weekly flights to Paris. Frankfurt also gains additional weekly flight from 26DEC11.

As per GDS timetable display on 2200GMT 15MAR11, latest European carriers’ service adjustment for Tokyo Narita for 16MAR11 and onwards as follows.
Lufthansa has become the first European carrier announcing suspending Tokyo service until next week, due to fear of possible nuclear radiation affecting the area. Alitalia becomes the latest carrier to revise NRT operation, which now includes intermediate stop in Osaka on outbound flight.

Aegean Airlines to launch Moscow Domodedovo service and Thessaloniki – Paris CDG in S11
Aegean Airlines is launching service to Moscow in Summer 2011 season. From 29APR11, it’ll launch 4 weekly Athens – Moscow Domodedovo and 2 weekly Thessaloniki – Moscow Domodedovo (increase to 6 weekly from by late-July 2011) route.
In addition, the Star Alliance member from 02JUN11 to 30SEP11 launches seasonal Thessaloniki – Paris CDG service 3 times a week with A320 aircraft.

BIMAN applies to extend New York Route authority & FY11/12 Planned New Routes
BIMAN Bangladesh Airlines this month issued application seeking permission to amend existing exemption authority.
In 2010, BIMAN gained approval to operate 2 weekly Dhaka – Manchester – New York JFK service with leased Boeing 777-200ER, but this plan did not materialized. Per application, the airline reaffirms its commitment on this route, and seeks to extend this route authority as it is seeking for Boeing 777 aircraft for this service. It plans to start the service as early as May 2011.

Zest Air to increase Kalibo International service from mid-Jun 2011
Philippine’s Zest Air from 21JUN11 is to increase service on 2 of its International service out of Kalibo. Kalibo – Seoul Incheon increases from 4 weekly to Daily, and Kalibo – Shanghai Pu Dong increases from 2 to 4 weekly.
