JAL has announced international service reduction for the month of April 2011.

Mexico’s Aviacsa to resume operation from May 2011
Mexican carrier Aviacsa will resume operation starting 02MAY11 with 120-seater Boeing 737-200 aircraft, with an average of 28.3 years old. The airline was forced to suspend operation in July 2009 by the Mexican Government, claiming the airline owing fees for Mexican airspace usage.

The following is Jade Cargo’s planned Summer 2011 operation, as of 27MAR11, taken from the airlines’ PDF timetable listing.
Note operational routes are subject to change based on demands.
The airline on 27FEB11 introduced service to Hanoi, and will continuing operation in Summer season. Further, based on strong demand in Lithuania, the chinese cargo carrier will also operate into Kaunas, plus new service introduction to Geneva.

Aerosvit to launch Sri Lanka service from late-Oct 2011
Aerosvit from 22OCT11 is launching 2 weekly NONSTOP Kiev – Colombo service, its first new long-haul destination to be launched in 2011.

ANA from 29MAR11 to 10APR11 is to operate service to Yamagata on temporary basis. There will be 2 Daily flights from Osaka Itami and 1 Daily from Nagoya Chubu, operated by mono-class 737-800 aircraft.
Also, temporary service to Fukushima, which already in effect, continues to operate until 31MAR11 for the moment. ANA operates 1 daily flight each from Tokyo Haneda, Nagoya Chubu and Osaka Itami.

Sichuan Airlines launches/resumes 30 Domestic Routes in China
Sichuan Airlines in Summer 2011 season is introduce 21 new routes plus 9 resumed routes.
In Summer 2011 season, the Chinese carrier is launching new base in Mianyang, offering service to 10 cities with 2 Embraer ERJ145 aircraft, and 3rd aircraft will also be based from April 2011. By 2015, Mianyang will see the airline basing 10 aircraft.

Air Astana Planned Embraer E190 Routes: Update 2
As per 28MAR11 GDS timetable display, Air Astana has revised planned service introduction of new Embraer E190 aircraft.
The 107-seater aircraft per schedule has entered operation yesterday (27MAR11), and will be mainly operating out of Almaty hub. Note planned E190 service on some routes has been postponed by 3-7 days, while planned E190 service out of Astana has been canceled.

Hainan Airlines plans to add 6 new International Routes in S11
According to Hainan Airlines’ Summer 2011 timetable listing in PDF file, the airline is planning to launch another 6 new International routes. The airline has already announced the launch of Beijing – Zurich service from 31MAY11 (see post on 01MAR11).
The International expansion includes the launch of new service to Busan, Colombo, Jakarta, Kolkata and Okinawa.

British Airways increases 777-300ER Chicago Operation till 30APR11
British Airways from 27MAR11 to 30APR11 is increasing planned Boeing 777-300ER operation on London Heathrow – Chicago route. Planned 6 weekly 777-300ER service increases to 13 weekly, as a result of operation changes to Tokyo Narita due to post-earthquake traffic revision (see earlier post).

British Airways Cairo & Toronto aircraft swap from May 2011
From 01MAY11, British Airways is swapping operational aircraft on London Heathrow – Cairo and London Heathrow – Toronto BA099/098 service.
Boeing 747-400 aircraft operating on Cairo service will be reassigned to Toronto, while 777-200ER to Toronto will be swapped to Cairo.

Note operation may change pending on demands. Information below are as of 27MAR11. SIA Cargo in S11 is to launch new Singapore – Penang – Hanoi, Singapore – Chennai – Kolkata – Singapore service.
Also, on the schedule listing, it appears that the airline is to operate service to Luanda in Angola, becoming the first East-Asian carrier to operate all-cargo service to Angola, subject to Government Approval.
