Air New Zealand/Virgin Atlantic starts codeshare service

Air New Zealand and Virgin Atlantic launched codeshare operation on 27MAR11. Air New Zealand’s “NZ” code appears on Sydney – Hong Kong and San Francisco – London Heathrow by Virgin. Virgin’s “VS” code appears on selected service to Auckland and Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. (Hong Kong – Sydney sector was mentioned on this site on 25MAR11)

    a bit odd…. why would AirNZ code-share with VS on SFO-LHR when it’s clearly their Star Alliance partner’s route (UA)
