Skymark Airlines launch “Narita Shuttle”/LCC-style offering from W11

Skymark Airlines has announced planned operation at Tokyo Narita starting 30OCT11. The “Tokyo by-pass, Narita Shuttle” marketing campaign sees the airline launches a total of 4 routes, offering 8 Daily round-trip services. Pending on the operation result, it may expand operation to other domestic cities.

Service at NRT will see drastic change to its operational concept, which the airline is offering air fares similar to a typical low-cost carrier offering. A total of 28800 seats will be sold under “Sky Bargain”, as low as 980 Yen/ USD11 one-way. Overall, 75% of capacity offered at NRT sees average fare below 10000 Yen. Service-wise the airline is also looking at LCC offering such as kiosk check-in and checked-bag fees

Planned operation:

eff 30OCT11 Tokyo Narita – Asahikawa
eff 20NOV11 Tokyo Narita – Sapporo Chitose
eff 01DEC11 Tokyo Narita – Okinawa
eff 01FEB12 Tokyo Narita – Fukuoka

Above service operates with 737-800, 2 Daily each.

Skymark is also looking at future destinations of NRT: Hakodate, Izumo, Takamatsu, Tokushima, Ishigaki

The carrier in September 2011 will also launch 5 Daily Okinawa – Miyakojima service
