The following are the miscellaneous route updates for 09MAY11. This edition mainly covers on European carriers (including Russia-CIS countries) , which provides supplementary news update for RoutesEurope in Cagliari between 08MAY11 and 10MAY11.

  • Air Astana from 02JUN11 is launching Almaty – Tbilisi service with new Embraer E190 aircraft, which will operate 3 times a week. From 04JUN11, it will launch 3 weekly Almaty – Samara service, also with Embraer E190 aircraft operating

  • Alitalia from 04JUN11 to 24SEP11 is adding 5th weekly frequency on Rome – Osaka Kansai service. The new flight operates on Saturdays from FCO (Sundays from KIX)

  • Romania’s Carpatair between 01MAY11 and 25SEP11 is adding frequencies on following service out of Timisoara, where flights are available on Sundays as well

  • Despite March Earthquake in Japan, Star Alliance member SAS is expanding Summer special one-way service out of Tokyo Narita. It is currently planning Tokyo Narita – Lakselv (LKL) on 02JUL11, and expanding Tokyo Narita – Bergen (BGO) one-way service from 2 to 4 flights, operating on 09JUL11, 30JUL11, 06AUG11, 13AUG11. These flights will replace service to Copenhagen

  • Italian carrier WindJet last month (April 2011) launched Rimini – Kiev weekly service and Rimini – Prague 2 weekly flights. Further, the airline plans to launch Rimini – Samara in Central Russia starting September 2011, but no detailed schedule is released

GDS Availability/Inventory Update

  • On 26JAN11, this website reported exclusively that Skyteam member CSA Czech Airlines is planning to resume service to Hanoi, with 3 weekly Airbus A320 flight from mid-June 2011. As of 09MAY11, reservation remains not open as they’re not loaded in CSA’s reservation system, although schedule listing remains available in Amadeus. Chances for this route to be in operation is slim, apparently
  • On 04FEB11, this website mentioned that Malmö Aviation has loaded Summer seasonal service to Croatia into Sabre. This plan apparently has been shelved and has been removed from Sabre. However, it is unknown whether they’ll be operating as holiday charter flights, which are only bookable via travel agencies/tour operators
