ASIANA AIRLINES Plans Seoul Incheon – Honolulu Service Sep – Dec 2011
As per 15AUG11 GDS timetable display, ASIANA AIRLINES plans to start 2 weekly Seoul Incheon – Honolulu NONSTOP service on board Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
Service to begin from 18SEP11 until 08DEC11 (the same week when Seoul Incheon – Seattle is reduced to 5 weekly). However, reservation is currently not open to general public.

IBERIA Changes to San Juan & Santo Domingo Operation in Dec 2011/Jan 2012
As per 15AUG11 GDS timetable display, IBERIA during the month of December 2011 and January 2012 is adjusting Madrid – San Juan service.
In December 2011, 2 of 3 weekly service is operating as Madrid – Santo Domingo – San Juan – Madrid. In January 2012, all 3 weekly service operates Madrid – San Juan – Santo Domingo – Madrid. Service to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic as a result will increase to 9 weekly in Dec 2011, and 10 weekly in Jan 2012.

Transaero to Resume Mauritius Winter Seasonal service with ex-Singapore Airlines 777-300 Aircraft
Transaero starting 30OCT11 is resuming Winter seasonal service on Moscow Domodedovo – Mauritius route. Service operates twice weekly, and is to be operated by Boeing 777-300 aircraft.
The Russian carrier has purchased 4 Boeing 777-300 from Singapore Airlines. Currently Mauritius is the first route listed with 773 operation.

bmi / Air India to Launch Codeshare Service late-Aug 2011
Starting 24AUG11, bmi and Air India will begin bilateral codeshare operation, covering service between UK and India, as well as Domestic India and UK service.
This is the first codeshare agreement to be implemented between Air India and a Star Alliance member, after the former failed to join the alliance.

Condor W11/12 Long-Haul Operation Changes: Update 2 as of 15AUG11
As per 15AUG11 GDS timetable display, latest changes to Condor’s Planned Winter 2011/12 season as follows.
Note the airline remains on track to re-introduce service to Nairobi, Recife and San Juan. Service to La Romana, which was previously canceled in W11 season, is re-instated with additional flights operating compared to W10.

Hellenic Imperial Changes to New York JFK Service; London/Johannesburg Suspension
As per 15AUG11 GDS timetable display, Greek carrier Hellenic Imperial Airways has extended Boeing 747 operation on Athens – New York JFK route into September 2011, due to issues with the lease of Airbus A340 aircraft. The airline currently targets A340 service starting 16SEP11. Overall frequency on this route is 2 weekly, reduced from planned 4 weekly.
Meanwhile, the airline has canceled Athens – London Gatwick service since July 2011, which was supposed to be operated by A340 as well. In addition, the airline also cancelled Johannesburg service until 21OCT11 at the earliest.

China Southern Airlines has postponed planned service launch to Istanbul. The 3 weekly Beijing – Urumqi – Istanbul Boeing 757 service, originally due to start from 02SEP11, is now postponed till 22NOV11.

Virgin Australia Initial ATR72 Operational Routes: Update 2 as of 15AUG11
As per 15AUG11 Amadeus timetable display, Virgin Australia has updated planned ATR72-500 turboprop schedule, which the airline is due to launch the service starting mid-October 2011. The ATR72 aircraft is operated by Skywest Australia.

Singapore Airlines Plans Limited-time Busan & Sapporo service in W11
Singapore Airlines in Winter 2011 season is offering limited-period service on Singapore – Busan and Singapore – Sapporo service.
Service to Sapporo operates from 26NOV11 to 18DEC11 and Busan service operates from 25DEC11 to 22JAN12. Both routes to be operated by Boeing 777-200 twice weekly each.
