AIRFRANCE Ends A319LR DEDICATE Service from April 2012

AIRFRANCE starting 16APR12 is adjusting service to Malabo and N’Djamena, where both routes will see Daily operation reduced to 3 weekly. Despite frequency reduction, the airline is operating 208-seater A330-200, replacing 82-seater Airbus A319LR DEDICATE, which sees overall capacity increased by roughly 50 seats per week.
This marks the end of AIRFRANCE A319LR DEDICATE Service (C28 Y54), which was launched in Jan 2004. The Skyteam member launched DEDICATE service to focus on niche market, mainly “oil and gas” destination. Some of these destinations has been upgraded to larger Airbus aircraft, or suspended. Malabo was among the first two destinations of DEDICATE service. As per 31JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, there are no A319LR flights loaded in the system after 16APR12.

As per 31JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Singapore Airlines has adjusted Singapore – Adelaide operation from July 2012, when it increases the service from Daily to 10 weekly. The extra 3 weekly flights sees operational day changes.
Further, the Star Alliance member has update operational schedule for Singapore – Melbourne route, which will sees departure from Singapore on SQ237 moving 50 minutes earlier, which leaves 70 minutes of turn around time in MEL, instead of 15.

Condor Cancels Ft. Lauderdale Service in Winter 2012/13 Season

Condor in Winter 2012/13 season is cancelling Frankfurt – Ft. Lauderdale service, which operates twice a week during winter and three weekly during Summer.
Per airline’s Winter 2012/13 long-haul program, the airline is not offering service Florida. Las Vegas will be the remaining US destination served by the holiday carrier in Winter season.

Korean Air starting 21JUN12 is launching 3 weekly Seoul Incheon – Nairobi service, becoming the carrier’s first nonstop link to East Africa on scheduled basis. Service to be operated by Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
The Skyteam member earlier this month (Jan 2012) operated two round-trip charter services. The flying time for Westbound is 13hrs 15mins (14hrs from September 2012), marking one of the longest nonstop route operated by Airbus A330-200.
