Emirates Plans to Resume Vietnam Serivce from June 2012

Update at 1200GMT 04JAN12

Emirates starting June 2012 is returning to Vietnam market with the service resumption of Dubai – Ho Chi Minh route. The airline last operated this service around 1996 or 97.

From 04JUN12, service begins with 2-class Airbus A330-200 operation, then changes to 2-class Boeing 777-300ER starting 28OCT12. For the moment reservation is not available to general public.

airberlin Singapore Charter Service Jan 2012

airberlin since December 2011 started service to Singapore under charter basis, which Airbus A330-200 operates Dusseldorf – Sharjah – Singapore routing every 2 weeks.

airgreenland to Lease Boeing 737-300 for Summer 2012 Peak Season Operation

As per 04JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, airgreenland in Summer 2012 peak season is to lease Boeing 737-300 aircraft to support its operation.

The airline in 2010 leased Boeing 737-400 and in 2011 leased 737-800 aircraft.

Air Europa Shelves Madrid – Cartagena July 2012 Service Launch

Update at 1020GMT 04JAN12

As per 04JAN12 GDS timetable display, Air Europa once again postponed planned service launch on Madrid – Cartagena route. Latest planned schedule launch is unknown for the moment.

On 31OCT11, this website reported that the flight was to be rescheduled to 03JUL12. Although Amadeus and Sabre timetable listing were showing this flight, however it never appear in the airline’s internal reservation system, which reservation never opened to general public.

Air Mauritius Converts Shanghai Service to NONSTOP from late-Mar 2012

Update at 0920GMT 04JAN12

As per 04JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Air Mauritius starting 26MAR12 is to operate NONSTOP Mauritius – Shanghai Pu Dong service, replacing 1-stop flight via Kuala Lumpur.

Overall service to Kuala Lumpur will be reduced from 3 to 2 weekly as a result.

DELTA to Start Atlanta – Port au Prince Service from Apr 2012

DELTA starting 07APR12 is launching Atlanta – Port au Prince service, its 2nd route to Haiti. Service is to be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft on Saturdays.

SWISS Chicago Jul/Aug 2012 Operational Aircraft Changes

As per 04JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, SWISS is changing operational aircraft on Zurich – Chicago service during the month of July and August 2012.

Planned seasonal service increase from Daily to 11 weekly from 07JUN12, reported on 07DEC11. However, in July and August 2012, Airbus A340-300 is replacing A330-300 on selected service.

TAAG Angola Adds 3rd weekly Porto Service Jan – Mar 2012

As per 04JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, TAAG Angola from 18JAN12 is adding 3rd weekly service to Porto, on board Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.

The 3rd weekly flight operates as Luanda – Porto – Lisbon – Luanda, currently scheduled until 24MAR12. Overall service to Lisbon is kept at 9 weekly, with 6 weekly 777-300ER and 3 weekly -200ER operation.

Cyprus Airways Adds New Nonstop Greek Islands Service Jul – Sep 2012

As per 04JAN12 GDS timetable display, Cyprus Airways between July and September 2012 is introducing 3 NEW nonstop connections between Cyprus and Greek Islands – Mykonos, Rhodes, Thira.

This is the first time the carrier offering nonstop service to these destinations in recent years. According to OAG, service to Mykonos and Thira in the past was operated under one-off basis.
