UNITED from 29SEP12 is introducing Boeing 777-200ER aircraft on its daily Houston – Rio de Janeiro route, replacing Boeing 767-400ER. The 767-400ER will then shift to Houston – Buenos Aires operation from the same day, replacing 767-200ER aircraft.
Note the 777 service to Rio de Janeiro is operated by Continental with 2-class configuration.

China Southern Adjusts A380 Domestic Operation from Jan 2012: Shanghai Cancellations

As per 12JAN12 China Southern’s in-house reservation display, the Skyteam member is adjusting its A380 Domestic operation.
Service on Beijing – Shanghai Pu Dong is cancelled. A380 operation on this route only lasted for 22 days. Beijing – Guangzhou during Chinese New Year sees operational adjustments.

Hainan Airlines to Start Beijing – Bangkok Service from mid-Jul 2012

As per 12JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Hainan Airlines starting 13JUL12 launches Beijing – Bangkok 4 weekly service, on board Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The airline previously planned to offer this route in Oct 2011, but the plan was cancelled.

China Airlines to Deploy A340 to Okinawa and Singapore in S12

As per 12JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, China Airlines is offering 14 weekly service on Taipei Taoyuan – Okinawa route, for entire Summer 2012 season. Previously the airline reduces the service to 11 weekly on selected period in Summer 2011. On 1 of 14 weekly service, flight is operated Airbus A340-300 aircraft.
In addition, 1 of 2 Daily Taipei Taoyuan – Singapore service is to be operated by Airbus A340-300 as well.

Malaysia Airlines Los Angeles Operation Changes in S12

Malaysia Airlines on Thursday 12JAN12 has updated its reservation system, which sees the airline adjusting service to Los Angeles. (Note some other sources claim this has been changed on 10/11JAN12, which is falsehood)
From 25MAR12, service operates 4 weekly via Tokyo Narita, replacing 3 weekly via Taipei. Boeing 777-200ER continues to operate this flight. However, overall capacity offered to LAX remains below the level in early-2000s, despite the airline’s claim that it is increasing capacity by 33%.
