Virgin Atlantic W12 Operation Changes as of 27JAN12

As per 27JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Virgin Atlantic’s initial operation changes for Winter 2012/13 season, effective 28OCT12, as follows.

Note the airline is selling 4 of its 19 Airbus A340-600 aircraft, which will be removed from service by Oct 2012. The sale is to be handled by Airbus. Changes listed below already appeared in the GDS as early as late-Dec 2011, but Airline Route was unable to determine whether it was related to the sale of A340-600 aircraft.

Note additional changes remain possible:

London Heathrow – Boston
Daily service operates with Airbus A340-300, replaces A340-300/-600 mix in W11

London Heathrow – Delhi
28OCT12 – 14DEC12 Airbus A340-300 replaces -600

London Heathrow – Los Angeles
VS007/008 Boeing 747-400, replacing A340-600 in W11
VS023/024 eff 16DEC12 Airbus A340-300 replaces -600

London Heathrow – New York JFK
VS045/046 Boeing 747-400 (Unchanged)
VS003/004 Airbus A340-300, replacing -600 in W11
VS009/010 Airbus A340-300, replacing -600 in W11

London Heathrow – Newark
VS017/018 Airbus A340-600 (Unchanged)
VS001/002 Boeing 747-400, replacing A340-600 in W11 (also operated by 747-400 on selected dates)
